Horrible class! His lectures make no sense, he constantly has to correct his mistakes, which makes everything so confusing. Avoid this class. I got nothing out of it. I thought it would be useful, but I never knew what I was doing.

Not the best teacher, but for QM 263 you probably won't find any better. The material is pretty difficult, but the class is organized in such a way that it's easy to get the grade you want.

Difficult class, but always willing to help as long as you go to him and show him you're trying. Be sure to do all the homework - he grades on completion so it tends to pad your grade. He gives a lot of partial credit on exams. The group project wasn't as bad as I expected and it helps pad your grade too.

He's really nice, but the class is a pain. Just do the homework he assigns, he grades on completion and not if you do it right. Powerpoints help a lot. My biggest frustration is that he words problems differently on every question so I am never sure of what to do, and the tests take longer then the time period. I wouldn't recommend this teacher.

He is a good teacher. He makes you learn, but if you attend class and pay attention you'll do fine. Make sure you can do everything on the exam review before the exam, if you even attempt the homework he will give you full credit. Print off PPT for class.

This aggression cannot stand! Showers is a fine teacher, and such a good guy. There is not much dynamism in his classroom, but he teaches the class at such a pace that if you're not interested in statistics, you can still pull a decent grade. Plus he's always willing to help during office hours. He deserves better ratings on this website.

It is very hard to follow along in class, it gets SO boring. His powerpoint notes don't really help. He hands out practice exams before the tests, concentrate on them, and start working on them as soon as you get them. If you take the practice exam to him for help, he'll help. If you want an A, be prepared to study hard.

This guy is pretty much a creep. Anything I learned from that class, I found out on my own by reading the book. The only reason to go to class is so you can make sure you do it his way. QM is not a very fun class, but he makes it even less fun.

This is the worst class i have ever taken in my life. Professor showers tests and so unfair it makes me sick to my stomach. he will ask the most obscure questions off of graphs or headings in the book. DONT TAKE SHOWERS!!! class average is a low D. he curves some just so half the class dosent fail

All he cares about is meeting the goals set on his syllabus. I have an 89%, and I rarely ask questions, he doesn't like it when you question him. He won't slow down eventhough we're ahead of schedule to clear things up. He's a jackass that believes he does not wrong. Don't take the ****.

His tests are very conceptual. The homework is one thing, then the test is another. He's extremely monotone so if you have him late in the day, chances are you'll fall asleep. If you put the work forth, he's not bad. As a person, he's a good guy so ask questions freely.

He does mumble a lot and it's usually hard to follow what he's doing in class. The homework is the real key, and boy is there ever a lot of it. Don't expect less than several hours every weekend once the semester gets going. Tests are TOO long, over too much material. Not bad, but not great.
