Dr. Dewey is a good professor who wants a solid effort from his students. Only used two of the six textbooks he told us to get, so ask him before you buy them. Not a hard class and very interesting!

He's got a huge ego and he definitely thinks very highly of himself. Take the class if you want a free A. I did like how this class showed me some new ways of thinking about the Bible, but at the end of the day, I can't say I ever enjoyed this class and I wish I skipped it more.

Dr. Dewey is the best professor I have ever had. His class changed the way I view the world. He expects intelligent students who actively engage. His Jesus seminar was my favorite class in my collegiate career.

I found Dr. Dewey's class to be one of THE easiest I took my freshman year. His classes are very boring; all he does is lecture and talk your ears off, but he is very smart and definitely has interesting viewpoints. If you show up to class and take notes on the readings, the class is an easy A. He gives you all the answers to the midterm and final

Dr. Dewey is a great man. If you want a theology class that does not require much work then take his classes. If you are a religious person he may crush your beliefs a little so be ready for that. Also do not purchase the books. All assignments mentioned on the syllabus never happened either. We had one paper and he graded easily.

This professor is an incredibly intelligent and interesting man, but quite frankly most of what he says goes straight over my head. His lectures were pointless and hard to follow. We didn't learn much, but also had very little work. Professor really is a nice guy and will talk to you if given the chance!

He is extremely smart and most of what he says and lectures about goes over my head, but the entire class is through a group. There are no tests or quizzes, just papers and he basically tells you what to write. As long as you participate and put forth a little effort the class is easy.

Guy is crazy but nice. His classes were the weirdest. I was always nervous because the syllabus stated all these projects and such, that never happened. Our grade was based off 2 group questions, and the final. Very easy. but dont try to understand the lecture or readings, it will be a waste of your time.

Class was Intro to Christian Scripts, but it was basically the Jesus Seminar. Good guy out of class, but his teaching on scripts are heretical. Jumps around, hard to follow, reading often irrelevant to class material. Assigns only books and articles by him. Leaves out info when teaching, spins material. If you want legit Catholic theo, go elsewhere

If you are an atheist liberal, you will love him. if you are a devout christian, do not take because he will crush your heart. class was pretty much pointless..the topic was the death of jesus, which is a subject we barely touched upon. however, i did learn walt disney was a nazi and we are wasting american lives in iraq.

Disorganized, often comes late and lets out late. Don't bother reading until an assignment comes: most of it's frivolous. Rambles and repeats self a lot, so hardly gets thru any material. Posts lots of his writing online: print it and jot notes in margins during class. Sometimes open to questions, sometimes easily annoyed. But easy and little work.

May offend fundamentalist or conservative christians. Makes you think and only has 2 real grades which are take home essays (for St. Paul's class). One of the best professors here. Take him!

Great Class. You learn a lot. Pay attention, take notes, do the reading and you will do fine. Just don't BS, Dewey knows his stuff. Great prof, always willing to help. Allows re-writes of papers.

Dr. Dewey is the****. He's so awesome! He loves what he does and is always willing to help. I've been to his office hours many times and he always thoroughly explains things and we always end up talking about something random. I would DEFINITELY recommend taking Dr. Dewey if you want to see theology from a new angle and be challenged.

Class is extremely easy. Talks about nonsense during class. Overall haven't learned anything. He assigns a 2 page paper about every other week but generally about your own reflections. They're not hard papers. I would take him for an easy grade.

Over all good class to take for non theo majors. I hardly did anything and got an A. He doesn't relate info to students well but still a good guy. He cares about what you learn. Only 2 papers...very minimal work for classes. Don't read, I never did. Also don't buy the bible Work hard on the two grades and you'll do well in the class.

Pretty much a horrible professor and person but you will get an A. Seems very discontent with the university and life in general. I think he just gave an A to everyone in the class. Very little work. Do not do readings, just try to stay semi-conscious in class. Do not buy 5 gospels book but you will need other two.

Dewey is the man, class is very interesting and he brings new and challenging view points to Christianity. The only people that don't like Dewey can't accept the fact that he actually challenges people to question their beliefs which is a GOOD THING
