Dr. Jackson really knows what he is talking about. He is a bit elderly so he can be a bit unclear at times. If you sit upfront near him and pay attention its a good class.

Don't listen to all of these negative ratings! Dr. Jackson may be old, but he is the sweetest man alive and if you put the time and effort into him he will do it back for you! His lectures are harder, but he will always explain himself if you need it. He really is a great guy! I recommend him for civ all the way!

Everyone is so exaggerate on this. Dr. Jackson is not a teacher to avoid. Yes he talks a little low during lecture, but its tolerable and easily fixed by sitting up front. He is a very sweet man. Talk to him before essays and he is very helpful. He lets you out early for seminar pretty often

I took his class and attended all of them. Did well on most quizes. scored in the 90s on both of the papers he assigned. never got my grade back for the final exam. and somehow received an Incomplete at the end of it all. Does not make a thread of sense..

THIS WOULD BE A GREAT CLASS IF THE TEACHER WAS AWAKE, TALKED LOUDER, AND DID NOT READ FROM HANDOUTS AND THE TEXTBOOK. HE CAN'T HEAR OR WALK EITHER. I DID LEARN A LITTLE ABOUT WHAT MAKES SPORTS AND FANS TICK, AND IT WAS AN EXTREMELY EASY CLASS. QUIZ EVERY NIGHT, AND 2 PAPERS AND A FINAL. NOT BAD FOR A SUMMER CLASS.

Not quite sure if he is going to die soon, but my goodness, go see a doctor asap! The guy can barely one walk one foot, takes him like 3hrs to walk to his car. He has a hard time speaking, because his vocal cords are not functioning properly, needs to grease them up. He is old enough to be my grandpa's grandpa, like 170 years old, oldest man alive.

Before I had Dr J I hated philosophy, but he made me like it! At first I didn't like what we read, but then he introduced us to Buber and dialogical philosophy, and it was great. Very sweet guy, understanding, very smart. You don't have to agree with him all (I didn't always) the time to benifit from the class (I did very much). Exellent professor!

Easy class (Philosophy of Sport). Seemingly tailored to a specific group for an easy grade. A lot of reading but not difficult at all. If you pay attention in class, you will get an A. Hard to believe that PC would offer such an easy class, but it comes with the territory of having a Division I athletic program.

Despite numerous attempts of going in for extra help Prof. Jackson never was able to help. Then, for our first semester final we had to write a paper and after weeks of working on it he lost it. He claimed I never gave it to him although I came to him and hand delivered it to him. Do you best to avoid him, if you can't ask someone else for help.

Easy A. Gives a quiz before every class, you can't just skim through the reading. His quiz will be very specific on small, sometimes insignificant point in the reading. You have to sit up front, you can't hear half of what he says.

Seems like a nice enough guy. Seems to know what he is talking about. However I have never heard anyone mumble so much in my life. It is impossible to take notes considering I can't understand him. He needs a speech class. And not toastmasters, an actual speech class!

Dr. Jackson is the the cutest man you will ever meet. As part of a civ team he isn't the strongest but he doesn't ruin the team either. He is definetly easy. He is obsessed with Aritotle, so meantion him and you will get total brownie points. Sometimes, he does have a confused look on his face
