Failed his class along with 30 other. More than 50% fail his class. The class is not at all difficult but if you are not a studious student, this class isn't meant for you. He has no homework so there is no practice. Only 4 exams and the average is final grade, he gives a bonus on 3rd test. There is no curve so if you do badly in one ur grade falls

I don't normally post reviews but he was 1 of my favorite professors that I've ever had. Tests aren't difficult if you know your integrals. He teaches the concepts very well & works out plenty of examples which are very similar to the tests. His lectures are nothing short of entertaining and informative. Make an effort in the class & you will pass.

I hated him the first time but later on I realized how great he is. He has 4 tests that are 25% each and his lecture's are boring but he's a literal genius who really loves math and want's to give that love of math to his students. He teaches to give students a good background and wants us to retain the material forever. His stories are fun too.

Professor Kartsatos is a good teacher when he teaches, but he goes off topic too often. He gives you the problems you need to practice one class before the exam. He will blatantly tell students their questions are stupid. If calculus doesn't come easily to you and you need to ask for help, I wouldn't recommend this class.

Worst professor I've had. Constantly berates students for not being as smart as him. Ask for help and he will yell at you and not even answer the question.

Professor Athanassios does not require attendance or homework, the only grades on the class were given by 4 tests, 25% each test. I honestly couldn't understand much on the lectures, so I'd only go on some exercise classes. Just make sure to know and to do all the exercises he asks for the tests and you should be fine

Although his class is not really hard, he assumes you know everything. There are no homework, no quizzes, and he doesn't drop anything. So if you fail one test your chances of getting an A or a B will be none. If you sit in front of the class he'll definitely ask you stuff.

Very unclear while instructing. There is no homework given and no online math tool that allows for extra learning. The lectures were very confusing and he gets angry when students ask questions. DO NOT TAKE HIM. The processes he expects you to use are different than the ones taught in the tutoring center so they cant help you.

This is may not be the right teacher for some, but he certainly wasn't for me. There's four tests as your grade, with 10 questions each you have to make sure you KNOW what you're doing. His lectures tend to be quite confusing. I've gotten lost frequently in his lectures. If you learn with practice go for it, but if not, try to find someone else.

Honestly, at the beginning of the semester I thought I was going to hate this class but he is not too bad. The material is pretty difficult but he is always willing to give you extra help if you ask.

I'm taking him now in spring 2015 and he's very confusing and doesn't stop talking the entire class. He has a slight accent, but it's no big deal. He explains things differently and if you haven't read the text or remember it from a past math youre left very confused. I got a 102 in precalc last semester, but this class seems like it is gonna suck.

I took Differential Equations with this professor.I don't feel like I learned much. He isn't that great of a teacher. The tests are somewhat difficult but your grade is fully dependent on 4 exams, 25% each. If you do poorly on just one test, your entire grade will be ruined.

He's probably the only teacher I've met that understands that if you do complex examples, it'll confuse someone that's trying to learn it, so he doesn't do really unnecessary examples. He teaches what you need to know and if the theory bores you, then you shouldn't parrot school in the first place and you deserve the panic you get.

Seriously, I don't think there is a better Calculus teacher at USF. This guy not only makes class enjoyable, but he makes it easy to understand and possibly has the most fair tests I've ever seen in a math class. There is no homework and class consists basically of him doing enough examples that if you attend class you will have no problem passing.

Good teacher but not very good at simplifying problems when asked. He uses a lot of mathematical lingo with the assumption that the student knows it already so he can be hard to follow at times. He also does ALOT of unnecessary proofs which caused me to lose track of what I needed to know and what I didn't need to know.

Loved this guy. He was really friendly, and he also does a lot of practice problems in class that are usually on the exam. But I am an over achiever, so I also used Study Edge's practice probs they have online to further ensure I got an A.

Hilarious (tells the best stories ever), motivating (really wants you to learn and UNDERSTAND), explains well though very mathematically, so hard for some people to comprehend. Grade consists of four tests only, no hw. Does lots of problems in class from various books. Great personality and teaches well. AWESOME professor!

Best math teacher ever! Go to class because his test are the same as the practice problems he puts on the board! I see him outside of class all the time and he is by far my favorite teacher! I am taking him for calc 2 and can't wait for it! Definitely take him! If you actually talk in class and answer questions he will love you! :)

Very funny guy! Unfortunately, he does not teach calc too well. He talks too much about irrelevant stuff and then you do actual examples 2 days before the exam. He needs to stick to schedule, talk about relevant stuff and do more problems. I had to teach myself calculus. Most of the time I had no idea what chapter he was on. Thank god for tutors!
