Comment:

Format of summer class was odd at best. The schedule was not very clear at first and the way he organized everything on blackboard was not very intuitive. Most of the workload involved timed quizzes that didn't provide enough time to carefully read through questions that were intentionally worded with tricks.

Usually late to class. Attendance required or he takes two points off of final grade, but you get two free absences. Midterm and final worth 40% each. Weekly homework assignments worth 20%. Kind of funny but a lot times is unclear. Textbook required.

I took his online managerial accounting class for my last quarter before i graduated and every assignment was hard to understand, he does a bad job at wording what he wants and usually when you ask a question with an online teacher they get back to you by the end of the day, not him he rarely gave help when it was needed which was often.

Sheel is the guy for Managerial Accounting; very helpful; one of the best professors I have seen at UMass.

Really nice professor, he does provide ample help and answers every question. His class does seem long because he tends to do a 15 minute (unnecessary) recap before diving into new material. Also, can be a bit mono-toned which for me made it hard to focus; had to have an energy drink to stay awake.

Nice guy, pretty funny. Liked to start the class off nicely. He knows HTM students aren't "math" people and tries to work in that sense but isn't always clear unfortunately. Still, much easier than Acctg 221. Two tests, each 40% of grade and OWLS which are 20% of grade.

Must take this class with Sheel. Great teacher. Genuinely helpful. The class is totally revamped - no more quizzes, new user friendly interactive OWL assignments, two exams, and ample extra credit opportunities.

Atul is a great guy, very understanding and always helpful. Made managerial accounting look easy. The class was much better than Actg 221. Go over all problems discussed in class and in extra help sessions. Class participation helps.

Excellent class. Sheel is the best teacher I've had in HTM. May seem tough at first, but an excellent teacher. He has a lot of experience in the field and is very knowledgeable. Much better that 221. I will recommend him over any other Managerial Acctg teacher.

Atul is a really nice professor and is always willing to help. Sometimes its hard to understand him but he loves giving extra credit points if you participate and if you get an 80 in his class before the final you dont have to take the final. Six pop quizzes, 3 exams. Not bad and hes pretty funny when he cracks jokes

I thought this class was really hard, but makes sure every one will pass by dropping lowest 2 quiz grades and the lowest test grade. everything is out of the book, so read that and u will be fine, he is confusing to listen to.

This class is a little better than acc 221 because it's specifically about Hotels. I'm not the best at accounting so I didn't do too well. He gives bonus points just for saying a correct answer but, if you are the student who never raises their hand, this is pretty useless, as it was for me. Utilize his office hours to get the points.

Comment:

One of the better professors of UMASS. Makes accounting really easy to understand, very helpful, really wants students to learn. An excellent experience. I will recommend it to everyone.
