I really enjoyed Dr. Haas. She made the class enjoyable and manageable. There is no point in reading the textbook because everything you need to know is on the powerpoints. Her powerpoints are also very clear- things I didnt fully understand in AP Bio I understoood in Dr. Haas class. If you study efficiently for the tests, you will get an A!

Haas is an awesome woman, she makes the material relatable. Having her at 8 am wasn't bad at all, her lectures seem long some days and short others. She teaches really fast so I recommend typing them straight onto the powerpoint. The tests are taken directly from lecture and the powerpoints. If you study it is a do-able A, the quizzes kinda suck.

The class is very disorganized. She tells us that everything on the test comes from the power point, but they're mostly just picture so it's hard to follow. She'll post mastering bio assignments without telling you. Gives review guides, but sometimes there will still be content on the test that was NEVER discussed.

Very overhyped. The first two units are horrible but then it starts to get more interesting. Get ready to memorize species of antelope and fun facts about them. She's ok. There are better bio teachers.

I decided to take Dr. Haas because I heard so many good things about her as a respected teacher. This class has been the most difficult science class I have taken here at Loyola. Everyone in my class is struggling and it seems as the semester goes on it just is getting worse. I would not recommend taking this class unless you really have to.

Dr. Haas initially seemed like a very organized and supportive professor. However, things quickly went down hill. I felt like she prepared the class very well for exam #1, yet ever since exam #1 ended most of her class seems a bit confused on what exactly is going on and seem lost with the material and confused with random info on exams

Dr. Haas is amazing! I definitely recommend her for anyone without much of a biology background, her lectures are fantastic and her tests and quizzes are directly based off of her powerpoints. Phenomenal professor, you'll love her!

She just reads off her powerpoints which are typically just diagrams-hardly any information so you gotta listen to lectures. She just goes off on tangents about different animals and countries which are pointless. Exams have information we never went over. Don't use the textbook. Extra point on your final grade for good attendance.

Dr. Haas's tests are hard. She puts questions on that were never talked about. Slides have little info. Tests have questions such as A,B,A&C, none or all of the above. She goes over either too much or too little in lectures. Not sure why she has good reviews because everyone in my lecture has gotten bad grades on her exams. Do not take.

Dr. Haas is not specific during class. She puts questions on the exam that you can not find in the slides. She goes in depth with her exam questions and the answers cant even be googled. I took her expecting it to be easy and meaningful to my education and it was the exact opposite.

Don't take Haas unless you want to only have lectures on random African countries and animals!! The tests are ridiculous, requiring you to memorize specific species instead of major facts. She focuses on minor things and forgets to lecture on what is actually important and relevant. I always do well in sciences, but her trivia tests are impossible.

All over the place. You never know what to exactly expect on the tests. There was always a lot of questions: A, B, C, A & C, all of the above which can be very confusing.

Powerpoints only have pictures. Covers more in class than what is on tests so you dont know what to study. She suggested I tape her so i dont miss details and now I have to go home and write down every word she says, memorize it, and i still got a 70 on the test. Not organized. Some test topics not covered. Not sure why she got good reviews.

She is a great professor! She makes everything so simple and straightforward. She uses a lot of real world comparisons which helps a lot with remembering the material. Her exams are slightly harder than you would expect but if you study youll be fine. Shes funny and very approachable!

Haas gives extra credit if you miss less than four classes and always announces when quizzes and exams are. She doesn't assign much homework. You don't really need the book, as exams are based on her lectures. She tends to get off topic easily, but it is usually funny.

Dr. Haas is amazing. You have quizzes scattered around the semester and 4 exams. There is a group project at the end of the semester which counts as 20% of your final exam. Overall, great.
