Dr. Sawrey is a great teacher. I took her chemistry 6a class way back in 1997-- the fact that she allowed me to drop one of my midterms saved my gpa! I literally failed that first midterm, but studied really hard and because I was able to drop one midterm, I got an A in the class. I went on to attend Ucsd med school. Thank you Dr. Sawrey!!!

Pretty good teacher. Quizzes should be cake. make sure to study hard for the 2nd quiz. midterms are kinda hard just b/c multiple choice questions are worth a lot. discussion section has no effect on final grade. EVERY point counts. seriously. My final grade was 1 point away from a B+ and she would not give it to me.

Awesome professor. Dr Sawry really does a great job of explaining concepts and teaching them in a way that facilitates learning. She is very prepared for all her lectures and really knows her stuff!

Midterms and finals were pretty hard for those who had little background on chemistry before taking this class. But overall, she is an excellent lecturer and makes the class interesting. Possibly the best lecture I've had. However, this class is not an easy A.

This class is not hard, but MAKE SURE to go to class since going to class gives you extra credit points. And you don't really have to read the book if you go to class since she explains the material pretty well. But to do well in this class, make sure you do and understand all of the homework. If you know how to do the homework, you will do well.

Dr. Sawry was very clear in class and had some cool demos in class. Everything is clear and concise and she even throws in comics every class to keep us awake. Beware; the TA's are soo dumb, i could to better and Im a bio major!

Probably the best chem teacher in UCSD. Her lectures are very clear and easy to understand. Very nice and somewhat funny professor as well. Made the material very easy to understand. Her quizzes are not to bad, midterms are representive of the homework. Overall, fabulous professor, a must take!

She is pretty clear and easy to understand. Her lectures are somewhat boring IMO, but she shows chemistry-related comics on her overhead from time to time to keep us awake. Throughout all her lectures, she has only shown us about three demos. Her midterms and final are alright. No homework.

Such a wonderful teacher! Very caring and sincerely wants to help her students learn. Her morning lectures were very early but she made it bearable with her cartoons and wonderful sense of humor. Tests are not too bad, just make sure you review your lecture notes throughly!

Her lectures are awesome- don't miss them! Sawrey is a great teacher and chemistry makes sense the way she teaches it. But during Office Hours she's pretty unhelpful. She seemed surprised I was there and became impatient when I didn't understand it immediately. Still, I highly recommend her.

Dr. Sawrey is one of the best profs at UCSD. She is the best of the best. Her exams are quite fair and her lectures are enlightening. She is very organized and she makes her lectures enjoyable. She is always smiling!
