Mr Bickmore knows all the lectures but in my opinion he is not the best at explaining them. He is like any average college teacher: cares about the lecture but not too much about how students are doing. Bring your i clicker always to class and make sure you take photos to all the ppt slides.

Comment:
Dr. Bickmore is a good guy and has great intentions, but his lectures are quite dry. It feels like he just begins lecturing before the students even realize what's going on, and then he just breezes through things quickly. The class overall isn't too hard, but there is a lot of reading. 4 midterms and a final. I took it Spring term and survived!

I will be honest. Avoid taking this professor. With all love and respect, his lectures are dry, boring, and confusing. He's a great person with a great heart, but his teaching style makes the class even harder. The readings are long and hard, the only way to get an A is by going to the TA lab. Don't suggest doing it in the spring, too fast and hard

I really enjoyed this class. It is difficult and you do have to work to get a good grade. You can bring a notecard to the tests and that is helpful. I felt like he taught the concepts in a way that made a lot of sense and I understood the chemistry concepts from his teaching better than I did when I took a chemistry class.

The course is hard. He makes it very possible to pass if you attend every lecture and you do your part by reading and doing the before class questions.

Brother Bickmore is a pretty good teacher. Kind of goofy and gets on tangents; not extremely clear. Reading is mandatory even tho it probably isn't necessary. Overall, alright teacher but not my first choice.

Dr. Bickmore knows his stuff, and I did learn a lot from his class. There are no outside assignments and he has chances for xtra credit, but his assessment methods were a bit sub-par. Despite what others say, though, the course is survivable.

I did learn a lot in this class, but none from Prof Bickmore. I had an extremely hard time understanding him and I hardly ever went to class. I studied a lot with a TA who knew her stuff and got a decent grade.

This class is very difficult for a two credit class. He ends it 2/3 of the way of the semester which is nice. There are quizzes for the reading on blackboard that have a-m choices. Copy the quiz questions because he recycles them for tests. Two finals: one lecture one lab. Lab is identifying rocks, lecture is a 150 question test! Im glad to be done

This class is hard and requires a lot of extra time. Dr.Bickmore is very unhelpful and it feels like he is trying to trick his students. His quizzes and tests have multiple choice options that make the test impossible by having 20 different options. I would highly recommended not taking any classes from him.

The last comment was pretty accurate. Prof Bickmore is a nice guy but he isnt always clear, his quizzes are tough even though theyre even open book. Also... theres a ton of text book reading. Definitely write down quiz questions (as your taking it) & study from them later. You can manage an A, just gotta study hardcore & remmeber what youve read

The hardest part about this class was the quizzes. But the test is based on the quizzes, so make sure to copy the quiz questions to study. I thought this was going to be a horrible class, but it just takes effort. It's not an easy A, but it's managable. He does try his best to teach what we need to know though.

Very frustrating because he is not clear when he explains things. He is a very nice teacher and he is willing to work with you to help you but is just not clear. A quiz every week on blackboard. The test is on blackboard with unlimited time. On tests and quizzes have a, b, c, d, a and a, a b and c but not d...it's so confusing!

This class was the worst I have taken at BYU. It was worse than Am Heritage. He blames his poor teaching skills on the fact that he is ADHD, tries as hard as he can to trick you on his huge tests, and relishes in his multiple choice questions that include options A thru R. Terrible experience, learned nothing but lessons in how to be a bad teacher.

This class was the worst class I have ever taken. Tests were ridiculously hard and he admittedly prides himself in trying to throw you off by putting letters a-m and making up words on tests. He is extremely immature and loves rocks a little too much. The lab was ok as long as you get lucky and get a good TA. Lectures were so boring

This was my absolutely best class this semester. If you are interested in really learning about geology then this is the class to take. The tests were difficult, but this is what made the class valuable. I learned more about effective teaching from watching Dr. Bickmore teach. He is fair, cares, and listens to his students. Real quality.

This guy should not be allowed to teach- his exams are really hard and the workload is unreasonable for a 2 credit class. He knows that everyone hates him and hates the class, but he doesn't change anything. I feel sorry for anyone who has to take this class.

Worst teacher I have ever had. He writes multiple choice questions with letters A-T, and he thinks that it helps you learn. AVOID him if at all possible.
