Be ready to work - and learn - in Bela's class. He is a savage - he once told me the work I presented was terrible. With that being said, he is not mean - just blunt and honest; does not sugar coat things. When you do get a compliment, you know you EARNED it! Extremely accessible via email, almost immediate response 24/7. Makes you love math.

Bela's lectures are not exactly Claritin Clear, but once you get it you will understand it deeply. Lots of "A-ha!" moments in this course. He may seem tough and emotionless at first, but he makes sure that hard work is rewarded and that grades stay high. Surprisingly punny. Signed up for two more courses with him next semester.

Worst professor at Gettysburg. Picks his favorites in the beginning. Doesn't teach at all, you have to teach yourself everything. Office hours not helpful at all and you spend more hours in this class then any class ever. Be prepared to work countless hours in order just to pass this class. Avoid him.

Expect to figure stuff out on your own time. bad at meeting up to get individual help. Genius. but doesn't teach much in class. hard to understand any of his explanation whenever he try to teach. Had to follow his way of solving problem. seems really lazy (The first person to leave the room when class ends). extremely hard tests/homeowkr.

Obviously a very smart man and is probably an excellent professor in higher levels - however when it comes to teaching calc II his teaching style is not for everyone. His course does not offer much lecture material yet hardly follows the book as well. Expects most of the learning to be done on one's own time.

Bela is a great teacher! I absolutely loved all of his classes, so far I have taken Math 215, 315, and 301. Defitely take a course with him, you will learn a lot!
