He is a very caring professor and I don't think he made the class hard, its just the topic of religion is extremely hard in itself. There are 10 written assignments and his tests are super hard so work hard before hand on your study guide although not all of the test is from the study guide. It is not an easy A

There are a lot of written assignments for this class, but he grades them pretty lightly. The tests are difficult, so definitely use the study guides that he provides. You can tell that professor Austin really cares about his students and wants them to do well. He gives great feedback on the assignments which help you really understand the info!

I had to take Intro to Soc for my major...after have his class, I changed my major to Sociology. I took nearly every class he offered. I graduated in 2001 with a BS in Sociology & he is one of the best and most interesting people around.
