I absolutely loved every moment in class with him. Every time he talked about something, it just made me realize how much more to the audio world there is. Problem is, none of this is on the test and you don't get a study guide. If you like a class where you don't know what or how to study, Blau is the teacher for you.

Took this class with little experience in the SRT field & it was challenging. Prof. Blau is a good instructor & he explains it well but there's so much to take in bc it's v technical. Though his articles are long, read them to help you pass. Go to to lab time! That's where you really get experience & the only time you get to mix & use the software

Great professor, expects students to have a basic understanding of music production entering the program. He runs lab and very few students take advantage of it but, if you do it will be very beneficial. Hard tests but they force you to actually learn the material unlike in Sager's classes. If your in the SRT program take all your classes w/ Ben.

I would highly recommend taking a class with Ben. He goes pretty fast and does assume that you have a drive to comprehend what he's talking about. He's a super knowledgeable guy and was always willing to explain things differently if a student didn't understand. If you want a teacher that will be thorough and wants you to succeed, take his class

overly technical--expects new students to be at same level he is. gives very vague answers when u ask for help--like everything is a secret and you should know. also runs lab--hard to get help plus loss of time in lab when students come in to go over midterm--midterm makeups should not be during lab time--this takes away from others who need help

Nice guy but he is not very clear when explaining things to you and talks to you like you are already a professional and thinks you know everything already. He is in charge of lab but should have other teachers run the lab on certain days for students who don't have him as a teacher.

Ben provides you with everything you need to be successful and then some! His lectures are fantastic and he provides practical applications for everything taught. If you show up to class, take good notes, read the text, study the handouts, and utilize lab time, you will do great.

Fantastic professor; very dedicated. I've taken all 4 of his classes and enjoyed every class. If you don't understand something, go to lab and he will patiently and thoroughly explain whatever is needed. Stay up to date on assignments, take very detailed notes, and show some interest! The classes are very fun for the technical-minded musician.

Ben Blau is an amazing teacher. I was greatful to have his class. I found everything straight forward and enjoyed the practical application of the things we learn. if you are interested a class he teaches, I would go and speak with him he would love to talk to you. Honestly really sweet teacher

Good classes. Every class had lots of good information (from 173 an higher). Plenty of pro tools discussion once you get passed the first studio tech. class. Ben knows his stuff and knows how to have a little fun in the classroom. Very recommended.
