Coudln't even tell you one thing I learned in this class. I would not recommend taking this class unless doing so for SDF because it is an easy way to bring your GPA down. She has no idea what she is even teaching, and can not answer questions at the least bit. Her tests seem like brand new material as you learn nothing in class

Beth Ellen Clark Joseph is not a good teacher. She treats students like they're in first grade and yells at people for talking or texting. Says things like "1,2,3 eyes on me". She's smart and knows the material but absolutely fails at explaining it to a class.

Do not take this class. This proffesor cannot teach. She is rude, condescending, and she has a tendency to treat her students like 5 year olds. She doesn't teach the material very well, and her tests are down right impossible. Also, so far this semester she has been gone as often as she's been in class. Overall, its not worth the frustration..

Beth is exceptionally intelligent, but that is sometimes hidden behind her kindergarten teacher demeanor. Her lectures are usually clear but its easy to throw her off and make her nervous. Tests are easy and very predictable. Genuinely cares about whether you understand the material. At her best in small groups or one on one meetings.

I had her for Stars, Galaxies, and the Universe. She does just do Powerpoints all class, so that can be boring. She was very nice though and tried to be helpful. I would only take the class if you're really interested in astronomy. Also, you can learn a lot by doing the readings for the class or not do much work and still get a pretty good grade.

Oh god, don't take this class. Beth isn't even supposed to be teaching it, but has to because of some department bs or something. She just reads off of someone else's powerpoints. Attendance and quizzes are taken with those remote things, so you can get someone else to cover for you if you skip. Better yet, set up a rotation. Or just dont take it.

Beth is a terrific professor. She is very intelligent, and more aware of her classroom than she appears. She excells in small lecture, where she takes time for each student to understand where she's going. She constantly incorporates information outside of the textbook. Beth is almost always available for additional help during her office hours.
