it looks like you have no choice but to take Aitken-- and that is why you are here. Listen- he is not easy. This is not an easy one, 15 hrs a week outside of class. On the other hand, I am very glad I had him as a professor (compared to others). He gets sassy and excited about his math and there is nothing wrong with that! Long study guides.

This class was horrible. He doesn't go over the test unless you email him telling him to. He can't explain things. He is no help if you need any. He doesn't get back to his students if then email him. He didn't care at all for his students. And he makes no sense ever

This should be a 5 unit class with all the homework you have to do. 25 problems a week, some of which can take well over an hour. Textbook is written by Aitken and available online. Potential quiz at the beginning of every Monday so don't be late. Clearly loves math, he talks about math books like they were novels with characters and stories.

There is a lot of work and reading. It's not hard work, but it is time consuming. This class could have been easier and more interesting. The study guides were ridiculous, for example, the final study guide consisted of roughly 30 pages WITHOUT PROOFS. He assigned extra credit after the semester was officially over.

He's a funny professor and helpful if you go to him for help but the way he teaches is not so good. He expects you to understand things the first time around. He also gives study guides but only one or two questions come from it. Maybe choose another professor

Outstanding teacher! Very approachable. Goes out of his way to help. Gives partial credit where it is due. Has the special gift of taking a difficult subject and explaining it in a simple way that you can understand. Very enjoyable professor. Highly recommend you take him for calculus I and II. Oh, he has his math doctorate from Harvard!

dr. aitken is an extremely nice guy. he's always willing to help as far as office hours go. His study guides are good indications of what are gonna be on the test. you won't get something totally out of left field. he also gives generous partial credits. a good teacher to have for ridiculous topics such as calc II.

Class wasn't too bad. Had to memorize a lot of mathematicians, but overall, not to difficult. Gives a study guide before each test. Worst part was there was an assignment due AFTER the final on the Saturday after classes. Other than that, pretty easy teacher. Just keep up and you'll be fine.

The class was very difficult. He did a Great job "facilitating students understanding of difficult concepts". He was available for a couple hours after EVERY class to go over tricky topics. And it seemed as is our success was as much enjoyed by him as it was by us.

His lectures and homework assignments ahve nothing to do with the tests. Can learn just as well from the book doing problems as from his class. I don't recommend taking him as there are other math teachers that are far better. *cough* Puha *cough*.

This teacher was not very helpful when questions came up about homework or just questions in general. The teacher made the class not very interesting and I am glad it is over with. He totally had favorites and didn't care if it was obvious.

Aitken is extremely friendly and easy to talk to. He's a bit scatter-brained sometimes, but once you get used to it you'll probably find yourself learning sumthing!

It was a tough class that covered a lot of material over a short amount of time. To do well, you need to know a lot math definitions, theorems, and all of the proofs given. Definitely a class that needs time, especially for his tests.

He's so sweet. Great teacher. Very easy exams. If you have to take Calculus 2 take him.
