She was the worst teacher I have ever had in my life. The most rude and arrogant lady you will ever meet. Miserable human being who makes you feel depressed every time you enter her class. If you don't agree with her political views you will suffer greatly. Huge liberal and very hypocritical. Worst human being I have ever met. Do not take her.

Veterans, beware! If you have a VA appointment she will tell you not to schedule them during her class and reschedule them. She is self entitled, and a self centered! Someone must of called her an "ogre" she tells the class she isn't one without inquiry. She's a misanthrope. Pop Quizzes on her "resume" history and world events. Way too political

Dr. Betsy Alderman by far chooses her favorites in a class. I cant lie she knows her stuff. I didn't enjoy her or her class though. Shes a little too rude for me and I hate that she would call us "children". and I constantly had to beg for help. she a "open your book and figure it out" kind of teacher. DOESNT USE BLACKBOARD. its so annoying!!!!!

Dr. Alderman is not for the weak. She is tough on her students, but it's because she cares so much about their future. Attendance is mandatory, she has a strict no makeup policy. If you're not there, you get a 0. She is super rough for the first half of the semester and grades very hard, but eases up later. She really prepares you for the future.

Taskmaster. She doles out tons of work and wants returns. You will learn SO much in her class. But she can be a real pill. Not really someone you would be close with on a personal level. she really just wants to work and sometimes have fun but not be anyone's mama or take a deep personal interest. Will hook you up if you need a job and do well.

If you want to succeed, and you are serious, take Alderman. She's one of, if not the best teacher in the Comm. department. She is strict, she wants work, she wants progress, but she will help students at any point as long as students help themselves. She is also very well connected

While it seems like not everyone sees "eye-to-eye" with her I can tell you that she is one of the fairest teachers ever. She has class, and knows what she's doing when it comes to journalism. Be prepared to work hard for the grade if you take her. It's worth it though...

Alderman has character! She has an off color sense of humor! She's helpful! I have enjoyed 335 immensely! Her words of encouragement were greatly needed. She's a great motivator. As far as the class goes LEARN INDESIGN! The class is full of obstacles, make sure you utilize her knowlege and get your questions answered, otherwise this class is hell.

Look, this prof gets good and good comments. I'm not a smart guy, and made it through with a C. She will help you as much as you help yourself. But if you get your feelings hurt easily, you may want to pick a new major anyway. She's not gonna baby you. Pick yourself up and get an A in this class. She's great in my book.

DON'T EVER MISS HER CLASS. she doesn't care about you. she loves her cats and HATES students (She said if we have kids we'll regret it every day of our lives). she dropped my grade from a B to an F at mid-term since I missed TWO classes because I was very sick. she wouldn't let me make up any work missed those days. she's a horrible lady.

Really smart and good teacher. But NOT EASY though. You have to do the work! (A lot of busy work.) Just get on her good side from the beginning and you should be OK. So talk in class. She's REALLY PICKY about writing so if your not good then she will tear you apart!
