MGMT 302 with Professor DeMarr was not bad at all. You are expected to work almost every assignment in groups and the rubrics can be very vague. Just make sure you are applying Textbook theory to all assignments in high detail and you will be fine. Be sure to participate in all discussions as this matters for your final grade.

If you want a demotivating instructor, you found it. She will take off points for things she didn't say she required. Student's aren't mind readers, but you better brush up and get out that glass ball to divine the answer because relying on her instructions is just about as useful. Don't expect an A even if you try very hard.

I took this class, MGMT 370, and INTB 335 this semester. This class was the most time consuming versus the others. Teacher will answer any question you send to her, she encourages it. Be detailed when answering a ?, don't expect to complete something that is sloppy and get a passing grade. 4 group assignments and other papers/essays. Be on toes

Don't expect: To get an A. An explanation of where you lost points. Feedback besides "needs more work". Do expect: B- to C-, unless you correctly guessed what she wants. Expect frustrated team mates. Expect stress. Expect that what she grades you on is not what she outlines in her instructions. Absolute WORST professor to take. Avoid at all costs.

I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews on this professor or this class. Perhaps I didn't mind it because it directly relates to my major but as long as you read, participate and ask questions then you'll be successful in this course or one of her other courses. The directions can be unclear but ask questions.

The ENTIRE class is one whole group project. Something is due every Sunday (even Holiday weekends). Be very careful about who is in your group. Instructions for this class are all from a workbook, she teaches nothing. The workbook can be really difficult to understand.

She never explains exactly what she wants so she takes points off for things she never told you to do. This entire class is doing assignments out of a book she wrote herself. I learned nothing in this class and wasted my time and money. Do NOT take a class with her if you don't have to.

Beverly Demarr is one of the worst professors i've ever had in college. Her lack of explanation and ability to take off points at ridiculous things is completely unprofessional. Assignments are not explained and you will be constantly frustrated throughout the class. Please do not take this course. You will regret every second of this class.

there is no clear guideline to the assignments and takes away a lot of points for small details. gives detailed feedback but it does no good at that point. the class is frustrating and there is no extra credit.

Bev isn't clear on her expectations. Read between the lines when she gives assignments cause she grades on areas not defined in the description. If you take her online class makes posts about everything, she take pts off for lack of posts on every assignment. Also doesn't tell you anything to study for tests, only the chapters the tests cover.

Bev is an amazing person! She has done everything under the sun for me to succeed. She is tough but if you ever have any questions she will help you out till you understand it 100%. I have taken every class she teaches and loved every minute of it. Take her!!!

This teacher's grading is ridiculous! There are no rubrics to go off of when doing the assignments so she will take off a bunch of points for stupid reasons. All of the assignments are group based and are graded that way. There is no way for her to judge who is doing the work on them. Worst class I've ever been in.

Comment:

MGMT 375 was easy. Alot of work but tradeoff for no tests. MGMT 472 was a fairly difficult class. Requires a large, semester long group project which is not impossible, but advise not to slack. Can choose your own groups but definitely pick carefully. Overall, a good teacher that will help you when you ask.

I found her very clear and interesting. She makes point to highlight students posts who are adequate to provide examples of what she expects. Her tests are a little difficult but not impossible. Will have to read though. I will not have any objections taking more HR classes from her

Beverly DeMarr is by far the absolute best professor Ferris State has ever and will ever have. She is extremely kind, helpful, and truly cares about each and every student. I had her for MGMT373(Human Resource MGMT), MGMT375 (Negotiations), and MGMT472 (Compensation). Her tests are difficult, but overall, she's awesome!!!
