An amazing professor! She is the toughest professor I've ever had, but you learn so much. She requires a lot of reading, writing and thinking and she can come of condescending at times, but she's very helpful and tries very hard to make herself clear. I would definitely recommend her to anyone who is willing to work.

Dr. Harris-Schenz knows her German. But, she expects students to be more than on time. She started class early. I read the other comments and agree that she is condescending. She gives the impression of helpfulness but then I didn't find her to be too helpful. Her class is very demanding; homework and class participation. Don't be late.

She is very challenging, and demanding of her students, however at the same time she always makes herself availible for extra help. She is open minded and welcomes discussion, is friendly and approachable. SHe is clear about what she wants from assignments, and grades accordingly.

Wow. Professor Harris-Schenz is one of the brightest minds that I have had the opportunity to interact with. In a non-threatening way, she brings her students along and offers help because she ultimately wants all of us to grow as individuals. I'm lucky to have had her. Toll!!!!

Demands much of students and herself. Brooks no slackers. Come prepared, do your best, take her critiques like an adult. She offers after-class help liberally. Classy and top-shelf. At times imperious, but a good soul. Among my top 5 profs of all time.

I had to suffer under her as a TA 16 years ago and have never forgotten how condescending, rude and intimidating, not to mention mediocre she is. Her German is not pleasant for a native speaker. Unfortunateley she is still around to put students down.

Worth the effort. You can't slack in this class, but she values students who persevere. Don't take her class unless your German is very good! Her organization is top, and she's definitely strict. Some hate this, but my skills improved. A good prof.
