Great teacher. Will help you if you need help, and gives extra credit. He allows you to voice your opinion even if it doesn't match his, and he doesn't judge you by it. If you do the reading and show up to class you won't fail.

He puts a lot of time and effort into helping and encouraging students. He presents material in a clear, effective, and entertaining way. He is willing to listen to your opinion on a matter and will have an honest discussion with you about writing, publishing, and life in general. Very cool guy with a great sense of humor.

He was probably the worst teacher that I have ever taken in college. He is very opinionated and if you do not agree with him or vice versa there is no chance. He is a good guy, but a horrible teacher. The work that he made us do would not help me in the real world like classes in college are supposed to be. I highly recommend that you dont take him

I took this course in Fall of 2010. Dr. Church was an increible professor and encouraged deeper thinking than I had ever experienced. I went in skeptical because I'd heard college profs would try to sway your thinking to theirs, however he let us be our own individual and heard all sides of the discussions on the books!
