Very easy A. No homework, in class assignment every class, graded on very little points. You get extra credit points for attending every class. Your project is the hardest part of this class and its 30% of your grade, but he gives plenty of time to do it and is a super easy grader.

Lectures are boring and repetitive, he doesn't look you in the easy and speaks to the floor, but he's a good guy. The class is an easy A. Literally do good on the midterm and final (you get reviews for that), and do 8 hours of community service and that's it

Extremely boring and slow paced. Service learning is his main focus for the whole class. Unorganized. Writes all of his lectures on white board in an outline, so it is very hard to learn. Pretty much need to teach yourself things. Quizzes are nothing like content covered in class. Easy if willing to put in work.

Professor Lyon is extremely fair. If you want an "A" in sociology 101 please follow this blueprint: show up to EVERY CLASS(20 extra credit points), take notes on his lectures, review your notes regularly, complete the service learning project (using his template), rehearse the terms for the midterm and final. Easy A. It's just that simple.

Mr. Lyon is an excellent teacher and a solid choice. He is extremely friendly and offers extra credit because he wants you to pass. I was nervous about his class at first, but is class isn't as hard as it might seem on the first day. Do not be nervous about the service learning, it is easy and have fun with it. The exams are easy, just memorizing.

One of my favorite classes this semester. Lyon gives you many opportunities for extra credit and wants you to pass. Service learning is a big part of your grade but I am happy I did it. Only con is his lectures are pretty stale.

All we talk about it the service learning project! He's the only professor that makes you complete 8 hours. If you're not passionate about sociology don't take his class because the only thing you'll do is see examples of service learning projects. Tests are easy if you actually do the study guide but you have to teach yourself almost everything.

His class is all lecture. Everything he tests on is something he has said in a lecture so pay attention or you won't pass. Also make sure you really understand how the service learning project is supposed to be or else you will be screwed.

Mr. Lyon is AWESOME!!! He gives some quizzes but they aren't hard. Do the service learning project and find a place early. The mid-term and final are SUPER easy if you know all the terms and 10 questions. Everything is almost in order on them. I got 100% on everything and extra credit. Just study and do the little things and you will do great!

Took him for Fall 14' semester: Great teacher and always there to answer your questions. Quizzes are easy if you study your notes. The Notes are based on what he puts on the board. Not sure if he does the service learning project(volunteering) every semester, but a very likely possibility. Attendance does count towards your grade.

Dr. Lyon is a good teacher, but he makes you do a Service Learning project that requires 8 hrs. of community service then a paperpresentation!! It sucked and distracted me from learning!! If you like doing a lot of work, then sign up for this class. Otherwise, enter at your own risk!!

Professor Lyon is a great educator and person. I had him for SOC 101. One of the easiest classes of all time. Make SURE you take notes. The notes are easy, because he talks about a couple of theories and topics on his lecture days. Lyon is also very clear with his lectures. He uses real life examples and is easy to understand. This is an EASY A!

Soc 101 with Professor Lyon is an easy A, as long as you take notes and pay attention to when he tells you "this will be on the test". Do your service Learning hours. Easy 8 hrs. The end of semester SL project is very easy! Very interesting class. Fair teacher. Extra credit offered. I Highly recommend this class.

First of all, he is probably the nicest professor i have had so far, BUT his lecture really is kind of boring. This class is pretty easy overall, you only have two major exams in the class, which is mid term and the final. He will have quizzes like every month, they are really easy tho, and the service learning project is pretty much free points.

So, he's a nice guy. But his lectures can be extremely boring. Attendance is CRUCIAL, he marks down ur grade for absences. U definately need to STUDY STUDY STUDY to pass. Doesn't give you any kind of review for tests. & if you work full time like I did it's almost impossible to do service learning but u need to or u will fail!

Easy. easy. easy. easy. Just show up to class, study for quizzes and the midterm/final, which are all easy, and do your service learning project correctly and on time and you'll pass with an A. Easy A if you need one.
