Comment:
This is the best professor in the Computer Science department. He is knowledgeable, very helpful to students, has very good lectures that cover the textbook material, has clear grading standards, and the projects, tests and quizzes make sense. He is somewhat demanding in what he expects from students, but he is not a hard grader.

It's hard having a class in the evening but I actually enjoyed this class. Dr. Pierce is very nice and easy going and makes every effort to help you get the material. There is substantial homework and you really have to keep up in order to do well. This was made perfectly clear the first class and I'm glad I heeded that advice.

Boring (subject matter), but well worth being in class. One of the best teachers I have had at Hood thus far. I would take his classes again, you will actually learn something.

Comment:
Dr. Pierce can be a bit boring but the classes he teaches are very technical and as such the material can be a bit boring. He is extremely interested in the success of his students. If you really screw up an assignment, he will give you the opportunity to redo it without penalty. He'd rather you do it right and learn something than to fail you.

Very knowledgeable in the courses he teaches. Can be a bit boring in lecture but he is well prepared (uses Powerpoint for lectures). Treats every student as an individual - willing to work with you and is very flexible with due dates for assignments. Do the work and you'll get an A. He's a very nice and caring person - warm and friendly.

A bit boring -- he obviously knows a lot, but isn't that great at teaching it. He's not bad, but since the rest of the CompSci department is so good, well...
