Comment:
Mead Loop knows his stuff, so I can't fault him there. He teaches the large group lecture as well as a smaller break out section. There is an advantage to being in his section because he writes the quizzes and teaches you accordingly, while other professors are in the dark. However, I personally found him very patronizing and full of himself.

Comment:
Mead Loop is very full of himself and his teaching style reflects that. He is vague about his expectations and yet very harsh with his grading - which is not a good combination at all. Other than a few blaring disconnects in his expectations with his explanations, he is a good professor and clearly passionate about the subject.

Loop is fantastic. Always willing to lend a helping hand and give great feedback on projects, out-of-class work, and anything pertaining to Journalism. He expects a lot from his students, but equips them extremely well to produce a high level of work. I would gladly take more classes with him. Personable, energetic, passionate, and knowledgeable.

Professor Loop is a great professor with plenty of experience in the journalism field. He's insightful, witty and funny. I left his classes as a better journalist and better person. Definitely take him if you have the chance. Oh, and if you know sports, you can have some good conversations with him on the side.

I loved Loop, he really made me a much better journalist and though the 20 page jresearch paper was tough, he gave you enough time to really do well. I learned A TON from his lectures and though he seems tough, he is actually very understanding and nice if you talk to him 1 on 1.

Professor Loop has been one of my favorite journalism professors as Ithaca. He is extremely useful and is always willing to give advice about the future of your journalism career. He is in no way biased, nor is he a crazy rambler.

Do not listen to the other reviews. Loop may love sports, but he does not favor sports journalists. He is a fair teacher who grades and tests like he says he will. He is an extremely good teacher for Intro, J-Research and Ethics. I would take any of his classes regardless of subject matter.

Loop is without a doubt the most instrumental professor in the Journalism curriculum. Contrary to what former posts have said- he does NOT favor sports journalism students. He definitely loves sports and talks about them often, but I hate them and have never been discriminated against. If you never take a class with him- you haven't learned.

I had Loop for J-Research and Journalism Ethics this past semester. He has professional experience, gets to the point, and doesn't waste the students' time. Outside of class, he is very helpful during his office hours, as well. Ethics is a very interesting, thought-provoking course, and Journalism Research requires lots of work but is rewarding.

After taking numerous classes with Prof. Loop and reading fellow student's opinions of him, I feel that I can no longer hold Ithaca College in high esteem. His teachings are the ramblings of a delusional showboat of a man. I am baffled at the fact that no other students seem to be able to see through to the real person who is hardly as experienced

The guy's standards are too high. He favors sports journalism students. If you're not into sports you feel out of place in his class. I definitely respect him and he is a good teacher, but he never used all of class time and he assumes you already know so much.

Great professor for Sports Journalism. Really loves the class and is generally excited to be there. Teaches you everything you need to know about the Sports Journalism worl and AP style. I came away from Loop's sports J class with more than just about every other class. A great guy in general, very friendly and nice.

Some of the earlier comments claim that Loop is easy and cuts class too often. That is not true. Yes, classes run short, but that is because Loop gets to the point and doesn't fill time with unnecessary grunt work. He is the best possible teacher to get in this department. Take his class! Trust me, you will be thankful later.

Loop's a good man. Big into sports, which is pretty cool. And he's a ****. The one drawback - he hates the Steelers.
