Comment:
I think Dr. Reid is a nice person, but his class is very confusing. I personally went to every class and learned nothing. As an EE, I feel my other classes were more fulfilling as a came out actually acquiring skills and abilities to use in the future. He claims his classes are "practical", but that term is relative. It's very impractical.

Great Professor. Pay attention in class and you will have a good foundation for uCs that will serve you well (monetarily) after you graduate. Dr. Reid expects you to pay attention and actually try.

This is my second class that I have had him for and hopefully it will be my last. Just as with 2010 the tests are based entirely off of the homework, which sounds great until you realize he doesn't give u a single formula and expects you to teach yourself everything. His notes and lectures are horrible. Unfortunately you can't avoid him. Good luck.

The HW is modelled after the tests. The problem is that he doesn't teach you how to do the HW problems. The information you need is not in his powerpoints, it's not in the book and it definitely isn't in his lectures. He rambles on and on about whatever topic interests him for the day. I've learned more about clemson history than computers.

Bill Reid is a real character. He has jokes for days! Every lecture is like a breath of fresh air and I wake up in the morning just to hear his glorious voice. All of the classes he teaches are set up the same. Do all the online homework questions, show up to class, and take a test. Not difficult if you pay attention.

Terrible teacher. Avoid at all costs. Rambles on about pointless material in the lectures then tests you on something completely different. The book is kinda helpful but only to a certain extent. Going to his office hours is also no help, as he expects you to figure out important formulas on your own. Overall: Worse professor at Clemson.

Bill Reid is a funny, like-able guy who is really passionate about Clemson. However, none of that is relevant due to the fact that he is a HORRIBLE teacher. His lectures are ALL over the place and he rants until the point where you want to leave. When it comes time for the tests you find yourself INCREDIBLY unprepared even after hours of studying.

Bill Reid's class isn't as hard as everyone makes it out to be. The class already has the work cut out for you, which is: DO THE HOMEWORK. If you know how to do all of the homework questions, you will make an A. He gives good partial credit on tests and quickly responded to me when I asked for help. The homework is the class.

Comment:
Terrible, terrible teacher as he never explained the calculations that are on the exams you have to figure those out yourself. Has badly worded questions/typos on exams that negatively affect your grade. Also he is a very unfair grader you could know enough to get an A and still make a C on his tests. Avoid at all costs, but you can't so good luck.

This class is ROUGH and Dr. Reid makes it BRUTAL. He gives you absolutely no guidance on programs, barely explains them and doesn't really help if you ask him questions. Tests are tough and are graded harshly. Does give a curve at the end if you go to class but overall STAY CLEAR AT ALL COSTS.

Bill Reid is a terrible instructor. He does not cover the subject material in class and won't help you if you ask him questions. He doesn't respond to emails at all. Your grade is based on a curve that he makes up. There is no set in stone way to measure your grade. He clearly does not care about the success of his students. Avoid at all costs.

If you can avoid taking his class, do it. His tests are strictly based off of the homework, which give no feedback for the majority of the questions and you'll have to learn how to do all of the problems on your own as he gives no formulas or examples on calculation problems.

Be prepared to either teach yourself or pay attention to a very monotone professor. Test questions are the HW problems, with different numbers. Curves grades at the end of the semester, based on class performance as a whole.

Really bad prof because he never really taught, you end up teaching yourself. The homework is due at the end of the semester and is pretty tough to get right. The tests are impossible as he somehow expects you to be an expert on this stuff. Overall hope and prey that you get a B in his class

Real Talk. 1) Never responds to emails. 2) Very unfair with the blackboard grading system 3) Knows his material (like most professors do), but the way he explains it ultimately does not help you with the homework or exams. Lastly, if you have to take him, like I do, don't prepare for the worst, just prepare for the unfair

Terrible, terrible professor. Tests are impossible for anyone to do, expects you to be expert. If you are going to be an EE or CpE get lots of A's to supplement the D's you will get in his classes!!

Dr. Reid is a really nice guy. If you need help you can ask him and he will explain it to you. He is very helpful and very willing to help. He wants you to succeed as an engineer. He also knows the material really well and knows exactly what he is talking about. He also keeps the class interesting by telling random jokes or stories. I recommend him

The tangents he would go off on would create much confusion if you were trying to take note. The homework tests he assigned tended to end up with people getting in groups and spending many hours trying to figure them out. Knows the material well and is helpful outside of class, but in class its horrible.
