Would NEVER take a literature class with this guy again. His lectures are hard to follow, when reading, his guidelines on what to look for are abstract and subjective. Tests are graded on how well you do compared to everyone else (highest number of text references gets an A, lowest is the F, everyone else is in between). Participate every class

This class was a lot easier than expected. There are quite a few papers, but that's expected. He's a pretty good professor. He's got an odd personality, but he's funny and very interactive and engaging. There is a lot of in-class discussion. He doesn't require much participation, but makes you feel pretty comfortable if you want to take part.

Then man has a unique sense of style, and that is everything about him. Hair, clothes and his precieved ability to relate the Chiefs to anything we read from the 16th-19th century. Not a football fan? Good luck understanding any anology he gives in class to describe something. Know your american history from 16th-19th century!!

Very smart, very funny teacher. If you do the assignments and say one thing in class every day, you will get an A. If you miss class a few times though (even if you're sick), it will knock you down a letter grade, so watch your absences. Class is very entertaining though. Each student gets a nickname!

Like seriously, this class is so easy. I didn't even buy any of the books, just read summaries online and come to class and talk about them. You only have to write 2 papers the entire semester and that's like your whole grade plus attendance. Professor Vaughn talks a lot but he is kinda funny

Dr. Vaughn is a very fair grader and a hilarious professor. Attendance is mandatory in that participation counts as a part of your grade, but he teaches geneds like geneds, not upper levels. I highly recommend him. His class is always interesting.

Great professor. Laid back and understanding. Very flexible with due dates. Class participation is an equal part of the grade but that's my only complaint. Otherwise I highly recommend taking a course with him.

He's a really nice teacher who will help you out if you aren't doing so well. I didn't read all of the readings but if you go to class and take good notes you will do fine on the tests. He will give you easy participation points if you say anything. The tests come directly from the notes in class. He has a dorky sense of humor, but he is nice.

This is one of the hardest professors i have ever had. The readings were difficult and he never explained what he was looking for. He doesnt explain what will be on the test and if you dont write what he thinks you should you will get a D. I was just happy to pass with a D

I really liked him. I was nervous to take this class and put it off till the last minute, but it turned out I got an A. I didn't have time to read hardly any of the readings, but if you go to class every day and take good notes, you can do good on the tests. Just try to read and take good notes!

Challenging but not too hard. Just go to class everyday and do the readings from the main text. But don't let him fool you into reading the stuff in the Bedford, because I never read one single assignment out of there and still got an A.
