Professor BJ Rahn is one of the finest educators I've ever had. This is a woman who brings class and style into her class coursework, and she has a wicked sense of humor (if you're smart and quick enough to catch on). I took several classes with her, she is the consummate professional. If you want to learn from the BEST, BJ Rahn is the best!

Professor Rahn is a professor of high quality. Her teaching skills incredible. Her teaching techniques are different from the average English teacher. One thing for sure is that she really teaches. I was able to learn quite a bit from her. I was having some difficulties and She was more than willng to help. At the end, her guidance help me earn a B

Detective Fict. Worst class I have ever taken. So boring and pedantic; takes the thrill entirely from what we read. It's like a parody of academia. Not funny in real life. She wants you to memorize dates of books the course doesn't even cover. If you usually dismiss a bad review, knowing you can handle most profs... don't. Don't take her!!

Terrible!! There is no other word that i can use to express what a losy and horrible professor she was. She read the grades aloud to the other classmates which makes you fell horrible if you agot a bad one. DON'T TAKE HER CLASS!!

The class was about the innovation of the novel, yet her teaching was pedantic, she was so smug that she missed the irony of the situation. Uses quiz to "catch" students even though quizzes contain typos and mistakes. How to pass class: bring in hidden recorder; in pen, write verbatim essays in stereo assembly manual style, and be tres affected

I'm a bit surprised to see all the negative comments about her here. Her "style" is a bit "high-school," but she's certainly not one of Hunter's "evil professors." She was never rude to any of the students, and I don't recall her ever having shot down an opposing opinion. There may be better (I don't know), but she's not exactly horrendous.

RUNNNNNNN don't walk out of this class...she seems really nice your first day of class but you will get a sick feeling in your stomache every time you have to go to her class. She loves her material and you would too if someone else were teaching it. Forget about creativity and effort in this class, study your grammar books from elementary school.

Mixed feelings. I'm an A student and I got an A- with her. Very tough and very demanding on students; expects perfect work even during in-class essay tests. She penalizes for minor grammar mistakes and she pays very much attention to detail. If you can hang on and work hard in her class, you'll be a better English writer and student in general.
