Darlene was by far my most favourite prof! She was super passionate in what she taught throughout the semester. If you read all of the selections in depth the tests should be easy. Overall, would definitely take another class with her.

Phenomenal class! Dr. Kelly is one of the most inspiring and engaging instructors I have the pleasure of learning from ever. She genuinely cares about the students and knows how to make class content engaging. My favourite class so far in university! Getting the first essay back was a bit of a shock but she takes improvement into account!

Dr. Kelly is very enthusiastic about what she teaches and that makes it much easier to learn from her. There is lots of reading to do outside of class but if you keep up you will have no problem. Her midterm, in particular, was incredibly easy if you pay attention. 90% of the class finished within 10 mins.

She was an amazing first year english prof! She makes you work hard on your grammar and essay writing skills but it is so worth it for future classes! She cared a lot about her class and pushed us to do our best! It was my fav first year class for sure!

Professor Kelly is one of the best english profs I have ever had! She's v. insightful and eager to help. Quizzes are tricky/specific, but after you write the first one you'll know what to study for! Essay-wise, she is very specific about grammar and isn't an "easy" marker, but she's fair, gives specific feedback & acknowledges your improvements.

Darlene is probably one of the best teachers that I've had in my entire schooling life. She is so passionate and enthusiastic about her subject that it rubs off on her students. She is a fair marker and seeing as she marks all essays herself you will get clear feedback. Very approachable and friendly. I would take her again in a heartbeat.

She is a great prof, she knows what she is talking about and is very passionate for it. I took the 6 credit Canadian Literature it is a lot of content and a lot of information. She gives good feedback on essays and is willing to help you, but the final was ridiculous!

Great teacher, I would definitely take one of her classes again. She is an amazing reader and goes very in depth on the books and poems studied. She marks all essays herself, this is very helpful because you will know exactly what to improve on for the next essay.

She has a very narrow and established view of all of the chosen texts. She teaches inside of box. She is a fantastic reader, but when listening to her read becomes a large percentage of your class time, you start to wonder what you're paying all this money for. She gives no feedback on the ideas in a students writing; she only edits grammer. Avoid.

I took a 200 level Canadian Lit from Professor Kelly. I found her teaching style dynamic and inspirational. I think that she's a fair marker, and she takes into account if you heed her advice and improve throughout the class. I super recommend her for lovers and haters of English alike!

Absolutely the best Eng prof i've had, and i'm an English honours student. make sure you talk alot in class, and attend as much as possible. she makes the texts fun and listening to her read is like watching a movie. you must take a class with her!!

She is probably my favorite prof so far! She is not an easy marker, but if you take her suggestions, you will improve. By the end of the year, my grades improved in her class (and in all other classes with essay writing). She is a fantastic, enthusiastic prof and one class with her will greatly improve your writing.

Favourite prof I've had in my university experience thus far. She probably improved my writing the most out of any other prof. By the end of the class I was getting high 80s on essays!! Seriously, go out of your way to take a class with her. You won't regret it!
