Undecided about this prof. She treats students more as high schoolers. Likes to humiliate students, so be on your best behaviour - DO NOT BE LATE, DO NOT EAT IN CLASS. She can be quite rude, but has a good sense of humour. Also, be prepared for giant papers, which just seem unnecessary for an elective course. Tests are easy, though.

Outstanding professor. Very knowledgeable, well-spoken, and approachable. She has a genuine interest in her students, and will go to great lengths to ensure you succeed in her class. Her lectures are enhanced by her interesting take on life! Memorable prof; highly recommended.

Worst prof i have ever had. Very dry material. Comes off as very rude and even a bit lazy. Her online notes are awful, cannot understand anything from them. Her in class powerpoint slides are almost the same. You HAVE TO get your real notes from the lectures along with the power points. Her voice doesn't help. Bring Advil.

Wonderful teacher! I found her a bit intimidating at first, but after chatting with her I changed that opinion; now I really like her. For some courses she posts notes but attendance is still mandatory because she adds a lot to them, both in extra slides and verbally. Her sarcasm and humour add to her lectures a lot. I definitely reccommend her.

really hard to stay awake in this class, her lectures do not enhance the already dry material. Her exams had some moderate in difficulty, mostly because she gives no direction to what will be on them, just says everything we had learned since the last exam. The final had way to many questions about names of geographers, which was never emphasized

MUST read textbook but only sections of each chapter that correspond to material in class! Notes can be unclear at times and will require textbook referencing for complete understanding. Attend all movies and videos. Lectures are dull and have lots of writing but must attend as not ALL textbook material will be covered in class and vice versa

Great proff! She provides notes on her webpage for students to print off for class. Attending class is a must-- she adds on specific quotes or stats in class which she uses on her tests. Use textbook in correlation to her class notes, and you'll do great in the course. She does come off slightly rude and blunt-- but really a nice person! Helpful!

Go to all the classes or else you'll fall behind. Read the text book, to get an idea what she will talk about in class. The test are tough. You learn a lot in the class also she is a nice person. Also the power point in class makes it much easier to take down notes! Very organized and know's what she is doing!

Pretty boring class, tests are reasonably easy, final exam quite easy, the literary geography assignment is marked way too hard and probably does not contribute to understanding of course objectives, nor is it good use of a students time. Overall the prof is a bit loud and seems kinda rude.

Professor Hallman is a wonderful and knowledgable woman. Her notes are clear and concise (powerpoint) and if you go to class you will do well. The negative comments about her below are likely people who want high marks with little effort, and who need a reality check. Dr. Hallman is a great prof.
