I took her ART 121 Modes of Drawing class in Fall 2017. She has a passion for art and if you really care and really do your best you will do well. If you don't care at all, she can tell. She did tell the class what she does and does not want (e.g. "Don't use paint," means don't use paint.) Overall, the class was a good experience.

Brenda constantly changed her mind on what project we were going to do each class. she never told us about the projects until the day of so it was hard to preplan ideas or bring in the supplies you might need. Most of the projects were really out there and not realistic/interesting to do...

Generally laid-back and interested in art, but at times she could be very moody, as well as inconsistent when it comes to things like deadlines and assignments. Overall it was a really easy class, and usually pretty fun.

I loved this class, and recommend it to anyone who needs to fill an elective requirement. Terrific overview across film genres, by a woman who knows and loves her subject. Attend class (hey, how hard is it to have to go and watch a movie?!), take a few notes, and you'll do well. Fair marker.

Brenda's class was a lot of fun. Be prepared to write a paper every week (use footnotes!!!!) and don't bother buying the text. If you have any issues with her, talk to her about it personally, she's easy to talk to. It is true that she lets you vote on films and then chooses her own anyway but rent the others on your own time, I loved the class!

Holy control issues! She would tell us we could vote on films to see but then made us watch what she wanted anyways. Her answers to questions are either arrogant or vague. I was so excited to take this class and greatly frustrated and disappointed.
