Comment:
I took her online classes for 101/102 and they both were full of confusion. The instructions were often changed last minute quietly to see if anyone was paying attention. Doesbt clearly answer questions. Lots of pointless discussion boards. Changing the grading rubric one week before term paper was due without notifying anyone. Worst prof ever.

She does not teach. She lives in Florida and spends all her time hiking and kayaking. If you have a question, she will refer you to the text book and the WC instead of doing what we pay a ridiculous tuition for, which is teach. Be prepared to have points taken off for everything, including when Canvas doesn't transfer formatting from Word.

Have you ever had that one person who makes you want to drink? If not, here is your chance! Take this class and I can guarantee you will want to develop a drinking problem. No direction, vague responses, will not change grade for a failure on her part. She can't even find the correct pages on the book.

Robin does not teach, period. There is no guidance, no lecture, no anything. Here's the format: 1) Read a short essay, then answer several general questions about it 2) Post a response to one of your classmates responses ... rinse and repeat No instructor feedback on assignments, very little on essay's. All grades as final, no chance to correct.

I did not like the fact that we had to do peer reviews for our essays. She gives very little feedback on work, and was not really involved with any of the discussions. I really didn't learn much to be honest.

Let me start by saying that I do think her class is helpful. However, it's obvious she copies and pastes her assignments from previous quarters, so her due dates aren't always consistent. Also, her assignments come across fairly vague at times. Luckily, a lot of assignments are discussions so you can see the direction others took.

She was awful. Have fun reading about her liberal political views and added BS. Do not take her online class. You will be greatly disappointed.

This course was online and after reading the syllabus I felt overwhelmed knowing that I would need to write a ten page paper. Well in the end the format and all assignments compliment the final paper. Learned a lot and somewhat enjoyed it, since English is not my fav. I would definitely take another class with Prof. Newcomer.

Answers to questions create more questions. Overly picky over minutiae. The class may seem easy, but your grade will be decided in the final assignment. I would not recommend her remote class to my enemies.

I would not recommend this teacher to anyone. She is very hard and there is much work to do with no grade. There is no clarity in her essay assignments. When you ask her for help she doesnt really help you. If you have the chance, dont take her.

This professor taught an online english composition that was easy but totally worthless. We only wrote three essays in the class and the bulk of our time was filled with busy-work assignments to make sure we checked the message board everyday. She was so worried about attendance that there was little to no substance to the class.

I took journalism classes from Robin six years ago. I think she's the best teacher and journalism mentor ever. It's because of Robin that I'm a working journalist today. You do have to work hard in class. I got work on the "clips" (news stories) I wrote while at Olympic College.

The online technical writing class I took this summer was easy to begin with. All the work seemed to lead up to the final project. The final project was very hard and she graded accordingly. I got a C in her class. She answered questions promptly, but sometimes the answers left me still having questions.

Do not take one of her online classes. She makes you attend 6 times a week and you have a project due everyday and you have to reply to everyone...unless you have enough time to go into class you might as well take it in class because online was not easy with her.

Kind of a flake, left a lot of the work up to her flunkies. She told a lot of stories and didn't really teach. if you are there to learn you had better be in it for the long hawl other wise she wont make sense.

I took her class several years ago, and unless anything has changed, she is probably a ****, feminist instructor with too much pride for things that she doesn't need to be proud over. I learned nothing and should have dropped it early on.

Inspiring and fun to talk to, but sometimes indirect as a teacher. She knows how to make people think, but can be a challenge to learn from. I guess she's kind of abstract. It takes until the end of quarter to figure her out and what kind of things she rewards, but after that she's an awesome teacher and subsequent classes are very enjoyable.

I would not recommend taking her. Online classes are hard enough, but if you need assistance from her, her answers are vague and very unclear.
