Comment:

Dr. Becker is one of the best professors I've ever had. He delivers content in a hilarious way and makes a subject that could've been boring super interesting. Tests were challenging but if you pay attention and write down everything he says in class, they aren't terrible. Labs were pretty simple and Dr. Becker was always willing to help!

Comment:

One of the greatest guys at this school. Brian Becker is not only one of the best professors I've had, but he also helped me a lot as an academic advisor. The material is very educational/applicable, and is a little boring, but its not hard. Tests are tough but Becker makes them easy to study for. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.

He sounds like a blunt Tom Hanks. Whoever mentioned his cross between Jake from State Farm and Homer Simpson, I would say more of a cross between Peter Griffin and Bart Simpson. His lectures are pretty cool, too...

Very chill person but horrible at actually teaching the content. Jumps from topic to topic a lot when lecturing. Expects students to quickly grasp and be experts with the software even though it's a beginner course. Exams are very hard but normally curves them.

He's a very funny teacher, and makes otherwise boring material interesting and funny. The tests are hard, and basically you have to study on your own because a lot of material is only skimmed in class. If you don't mind a bit of studying for tests, but want a funny teacher, I recommend him.

Becker is a hilarious professor. He makes the class interesting and easy to follow/stay awake in. Before having him, I had no interest in this, now I'm changing my major to GIS. Study the Powerpoints he gives you, the tests are based solely on that, but the exams are tough. Come to the labs, do them, get an A. Expect a B in his class.

Ok class - not very interesting if GIS isn't your thing. Funny guy to listen to. No one ever does really well on his exams, but he curves them pretty well. Lab is stupid - just show up, follow the step by step instructions, and leave (most labs not longer than 30min). Show up to lecture and lab and a "B" is in your future.

This guy is great. He is really helpfull and really wants everyone to do well in the class. Exams are difficult but if you study you will be fine. He gives you great study guides. Its college and a 200 level course so expect to study a little. Labs are cool and sometimes fun. He is pretty funny too, there is never a class that is TOO dull.
