Professor Filippou is just amazing. He loves teaching and deeply cares for the class. He will push you to achieve your best. He teaches state of the art structure analysis not what you find i. the books so be ready to put the time and the energy. His classes are a most at SEMM.

Professor Filippou is an extremely nice person and loves helping his students. All you need to do is go and approach him during his office hours. The exams are hard and lengthy which could be frustrating. His way of teaching is fascinating though and he makes you work for it.

Comment:

Professor Filippou is the best teacher by far. He is very approachable and helps you if you need it. The class is a fun place to be in and the workload is not that bad to get an A in the class. Could have focused more in his class though instead of playing around. I could have gotten an A+ easily.

Comment:

FCF is a very good teacher, but he does discourage questions by constantly saying 'Am I clear?' and then belittling the easier questions. This can be frustrating if you care, so only a handful ask questions. He teaches difficult concepts and sometimes makes them more difficult, but he challenges his students and is a dedicated educator.

Let's get the record straight. I worked my tail off in his class. I got an A+ in 121. But it was an insane struggle trying to decipher what he was saying so I could apply the method consistently. It frustrated the hell out of us, probably frustrated him like crazy too b/c he couldn't get thru easily. Maybe we were too dumb for him?

This year may have been unusually bad. The class was unclear and comments such as "This is easy, everybody understands right?!" makes it almost impossible to ask questions in class. The course reader is very difficult to follow, since it is based mostly on large matrix manipulations and calculations rather than the exam-type hand calcs.

You people are ridiculous. Professor Filippou does NOT care more about his research than his teaching- I know for a fact that he spends the vast majority of his time on his classes. He puts everything into his classes and loves teaching as much as he loves his students. I sense bitterness at a poor grade.
