Dr. Yeh's class was one of the worst professors I have had so far at SDSU. She is difficult to understand and focuses more on a liberal perspective of history instead of focusing on events, people, and the cause and effect of history. There was a midterm, an essay, and a final. Other than that, there are in person clicker polls as quizzes daily.

I wanted to leave a rating for her bc of the low ratings she has (likely from freshman who haven't experienced too many profs yet). I thought she was great tbh. Yes, she has an accent, but it's not hard to understand. She is def not rude at all and I learned A LOT from her lectures (and readings!). I would rec her if you really want to learn!

There are 6 quizzes but 5 count. 1 midterm, 1 paper, and 1 final. She is not clear about the paper and what she wants so i suggest going to ask her. Attendance is mandatory because you even do group things during class to make sure you are there and don't just sign in. She was VERY difficult the understand and her lectures were so boring!!

She is kinda hard to understand because she has a thick accent. You don't need to get the textbooks, but she has pop reading quizzes every so often. They aren't a huge part of your grade so its up to you on that one. She normal gives a cheat sheet for the midterm and final. You gotta get some participation and attendance points to pass.

Although she is genuinely trying and i can appreciate that, her lectures are not well done and quiz questions hardly make sense sometimes. She has a sign in sheet but attendance isnt crucial to getting an A. Also, I didnt read the book once, if you took high school history this class is easy

Dreadful lecture, attendance is just enforced through one quiz after another. Tiring lecture style. The structure often makes no sense and the powerpoint design is awful. On the other hand, the participation of students in class is almost non-existent so there are long, long moments of awkward silence.

Prof. Yeh had a strong accent but you get used to it throughout the course, however, her class was just listening to her lecture off of a powerpoint each class. never assigns hw and her 5 question quizzes are so easy. this class was dreadful to attend

Decent professor. 5 quizzes with 5 questions each, one gets dropped. Quizzes are extremely reliant on the readings and can sometimes be pretty tricky. She'll walk through the aisles and randomly ask you to read or ask you your opinion on something she's discussing in her lecture, so be ready for that if you're sitting in the front.

Dr. Yeh's accent is difficult to understand, and it doesn't help that she holds her mic up to her mouth, when it's meant to be worn on the lapel of a shirt as to prevent feedback and popping. Her main lecture points are hard to follow, and she's VERY subjective about her material (she's an obvious feminist). Be prepared for lots of awkward silence.

Dr. Yeh is a special one. She only teaches the parts of history that she cares about. If you want to take a class on "Woman's Rights" and "Asain Civil Rights" in the U.S. take her! Cuz you won't learn about anything else. Lectures all of the class time and no one pays attention, because if you did you wouldn't understand her. 1 test, 1 essay, final

There is nothing clear about this teacher, her class, her grading, etc. I'm a 3.5 student and I couldn't figure this class out. Everything about it is subjective. It doesn't help she doesn't speak English very well, so she words things in a very peculiar way. Answering questions is not about right or wrong but more about answering it how she would.

Holy, is this class painful.. Professor Chiou-Ling is lecture heavy and she doesn't really teach all that much. She more or less reads off her notes or out of the books. shes difficult to listen to, difficult to understand and if you double check her work( what she's saying), she misspeaks or is flat out wrong. 2 tests dominate your grade(50%).

I'm not a history major but I love history and she explained it so clearly. Some lectures I would just tear up because of what the past was like. Wish I would have learned a lot of this in high school. After this class your eyes will be opened to a lot of things and I feel like my morals have changed because of it. Super easy class, just listen.

This class is a 100-level but felt more like an upper division course. The first day of class I couldn't understand her through her accent, but it got better as the semester went on. Always did the readings but the quizzes and tests were difficult. The lack of class participation was painfully awkward; if you take this class, participate!

Probably the very worst History GE you can take at SDSU. The lectures are long and pointless. Her powerpoints look like they were made my a 4 year old. Her accent is almost impossible to understand so you get nothing out of the lectures but attendance in mandatory. Quizzes and tests are based on the readings she assigns.

No body feels good after a class with Yeh. The accent is hard to get through at first and even once you get used to it if you're having a bad day you won't have enough energy t pay attention. The material is copy paste boring, she's just wrong about some things. You'll feel bad, she probably will feel bad, take someone else if you can.

Her accent makes the entire class extremely difficult. It is a large lecture class and she will randomly call on people to read and give answers. Overall if you can, try and get a different teacher, definitely one of the hardest classes I have had to take. Terrible lectures.

You have to read a textbook, otherwise you cannot participate a discussion and answer a question. We had 5 quizzes and they were all from the textbook. But as long as you read a textbook and understand it, you'll get an easy A

Her lectures are very dry and it's extremely difficult to understand her accent. You can get by with minimal effort but attendance and participation matters. 5 in class quizzes, an essay, 2 tests, and a final. Would avoid this class if possible.
