I had Prof Bayly for my 8am but his energy, positivity, and humor made it very easy to attend and pay attention in class. He is very lenient and has office hours almost every day of the week if students need more help. Great guy!

Bayly is a hilarious professor. Two of the exams were take-home. All you had to do was begging him to make it take home. In the beginning, HW were long but later on you barely have any. Also, the homework are self-graded.

Comment:

Bayly makes math fun! He's always enthusiastic, always willing to help. He doesn't focus much on matrix inverses in MATH310, so you might have to practice those on your own if you take other linear algebra classes, but he goes into lots of detail about practical applications of matrices and useful analysis techniques. I learned a lot in this class.

Comment:

I took Prof Bayly over the summer, and hands down he was the most energetic math professor I've ever had. On top of that, the little jokes he throws in here and there as well as the problems he does in class will capture your attention. On top of that, homework is self graded with full solutions as well to compare answers. I highly recommend Bayly.

Dr. Bayly's class is a bit weird. He goes completely out of order in the book, so it's impossible to use as a resource unless you're very good at learning technical terms. You only get a few problems of homework a week, so it really isn't enough. Don't rely on the curve. He said he would curve one of our exams, but the cutoff was only lowered .5%.

Dr. Bayly is extremely unorganized. He has very confusing lectures and explains things a different way every time. You NEVER use the textbook. There are quizzes every week in discussion and extremely long homework assignments due every week (he posts solutions the day before). Doing previous tests is the best way to prepare for exams.

Professor Bayly is really friendly and enthusiastic. Attendance isn't mandatory except for on test days. Extra credit if you come in the Monday after a test. A lot of what he teaches in class isn't on the homework but the textbook comes in handy to help with that. He was extremely accessible and helpful with his office hours. Easy A if you do work.

I switched out of this guy as soon as possible. He goes off on random tangents that have nothing to do with math. He always seems like he is on drugs, because he is always sweaty and has erratic actions. If I could I rate him as a 0.0000010.

He is SUPER nice!!!! the only thing is he does NOT teach well at all, and this isn't your normal math class so the think tank can't really help. attendance isn't mandatory and I barely even go because he gets so sidetracked, he barely lectures. its really not too bad but it definitely requires work.

The easiest math class I have ever taken at this university. Professor Bayly is a great teacher, but spends most the lecture going over one problem. Bring problems into his office hours he's extremely helpful 1 on 1. Overall easy math course, but it still requires effort.

Seemed like a decent guy. Lectures were fine, but took some discipline to pay attention and synthesize his main ideas. Course was easy - essentially no work required after the first month. That said: final exam taken Dec 12, grades entered Dec 29 (>2 weeks past deadline). That's not okay.

Professor Bayly has a great sense of humor and does many in class demonstrations to show real world application of differential equations. He explains things really well. Exams were straight forward and he pulled questions from old exams. Gave an optional final based on whether you were satisfied with your grade without the final. Very easy A.

Homework is easy and all online, but it's easy to do bad on the test if you don't review. He is very enthusiastic, kind of loopy at times but I'm guessing that's his character! Makes going to school at 8am quite enjoyable. Very positive/helpful teacher. Come to class and you can learn a lot from Prof. Bayly, plus some humor.

I really enjoyed his matrix analysis class. One of the better teachers in the math department. Be prepared to spend around 4-5 hours a week doing homework and studying, but as it is a 400 level math class, you should expect that.

Prof. Bayly is the most helpful of all my professors. Before moving on to a different subject he asks for questions and is always happy to answer. Homework is all online but he is still happy to answer questions.
