I learned about the diffusion of responsibility, the academic aims of argument and how technology influences our relationship to self and others. Byron wants you there for every class. I have not learned anything all semester because he never stays on topic. Every day is very boring and he assigns random assignments just to keep the class going. He does not grade anything but does ensure you have assignments completed on the day it is due. Crews class will challenge you, and he'll prepare you to write across the curriculum. Our focus was academic argumentation; how to compose an ethical argument; well-researched in authoritative academic databases; with an emphasis on supporting claims with empirical evidence. Crews is energetic, funny and inspirational. The Man. Take his class.

Crews was an amazing teacher! He showed that he really cared about his students and was willing to be there for them in anyway possible. Very down to earth and understanding of life. In our class we did 2 presentations and a lot of group discussions. Participate, joke, and just be present in class and you should easily get an A!

Consistent textbook use. Many assignments. Be ready to write -- and think critically. Class discussions are engaging and informative. You will give a PowerPoint presentation. Best professor I've had at WSU. Take the 8:00 am class. It's actually FUN!

Great person but his style doesn't work for everyone. Requires textbook but barely uses it. Time is spent in discussion and presentations, not many assignments. Avoid the early times as you won't be awake enough to want to participate as loudly and enthusiastically as required. Easy class but will be painful if you dislike discussion classes.

He was an amazing professor. Made sure to help his students whenever they were struggling. He is very inspiring and is only there for the students. He makes sure to "Reclaim Conversation" within the classroom environment. Amazing professor and would definitely take again!

If you can get past his whacky ironic humor (he should have gone into stand up comedy), Crews's class is a riot. Are you addicted to your technology? Are you Phubbing? Seriously, take his class. You will laugh and learn -- and you will make friends. Hilarious -- and sometimes intense -- discussions. Clear grading rubric; revise for a higher grade.

I ran into family problems, and Crews negotiated with me for an extended deadline. He was really open and supportive. I've never had a teacher who really cared who treated me like a human being before. Crews helped me with my assignment, and he helped me with a strategy for dealing with a personal issue. Cool Dude. Take this man's class.

I dont feel stupid. And Im not afraid to ask questions. Crews cares about his students. Its obvious. Hes kind and caring and funny. Im learning a lot about how technology influences relationships with self and others. Crews runs great discussions that are open-ended; spontaneous. We play with ideas. Crews encourages empathy and courage.

Byron is a fantastic professor and genuinely cares about his students. Teaching you beyond that of the course materials, his humorous and laid back personality makes an excellent learning experience. If you want an inspirational, thought-provoking, reasonable, interesting professor, then he's just the guy for you. I loved his class!
