Here's the thing about Camille Dungy (which I can now call her, having earned my MFA in creative Writing), she's a woman w/both passion & amazing talent, but also a vision that belongs solely to herself. That doesn't mean she won't recognize & encourage talent in promising students. But it does mean you have to work for it, & some dislike that.

Took Dungy's intro class her first year at RMWC and found it challenging, enlightening, liberating and eclectic. Today I'm sitting here with an MFA in creative writing. (Thanks!) RE those reviewers who said she's not "down" with out-of-the-box thinking, your wrong; she's not "down" with lazy students who try and pass sloppy work of as eccentric.

we didn't get along to say the least. i thought she was a pompous-you know what. she didn't get my sense of humor at all. she praised the other girls that sucked up to her. she's about as fun as a pile of puke.
