Comment:
Be sure to take his class online if you must enroll in a Bartling class. Does not give clear directions and grades harshly. Frequently would make snobbish comments about submissions he didn't approve of. Couldn't imagine if I had to see him in person three times a week.

A nice guy but very unprofessional teacher. Many of his instructions are very ambiguous and he seems to assume you should know what he means without elaboration. He also compares you to how well the best person in the class is doing directly to your face. His syllabus was wrong for the whole semester but it didn't matter because we didn't use it.

I knew this class was going to be work because it was starting our study, but he gave me a 5/15 on RP because I argued with him. He talks very ambiguously so it's hard to know what he wants. A friend went by his office first week of school and she's doing really good. So maybe try that?

Hardest Psychology class I've ever taken! Assignments due every week. If you keep up with the assignments, you'll do well on the final. I passed with a good grade somehow.

If you can handle a professor that never gives a clear, concise answer and is very scatter-brained, Bartling is your guy! He would tell us one thing then tell us a totally different thing the next class; there was no consistency. This is one of those classes that you put off until the very end because it is that horrible.

A lot of criticism Dr. B. gets comes from the fact that very few psyc. students have a significant interest in stats. The material can be confusing, and even though I got an A in the class I can't say I really understand it all. He loves examples, but oftentimes students won't understand them. Visit him in his office 4 a clear, 1 on 1 discussion.

My Favorit tacher at McNeese! I took his 427 class and am now in his 480 class. Looking like an A this semester. He keeps the assigmns straightforward and he's great about giving points just for effort. Sometimes he does get carried away with stories of his college days and he's a little corny, but it's entertaining. Best psych teacher at McNeese.

He's definitely a hard teacher, but doesn't mind taking the time to work with you or give you pointers if you take the time to go to him. Writing research papers and mastering APA format is definitely challenging, but thanks to this teacher, I've got it down. Looking forward to taking more classes with him. He's also a fun teacher.

Dr. Bartling will give you instructios for a project and you can follow them exactly but it won't matter because once you turn it in he will say he didn't tell you to do it that way. He did this to me and my group several times then treated me like I was stupid when I tried to tell him exactly what he told us. Would have a 4.0 if he wasn't for this class. I never have problems with professors and never complain but this truely deserves it. Bad thing is you have to take him for psyc428

He can definitely be a jerk! Don't contradict him bc he won't listen. You will have to take him eventually so follow all his directions to the T and you should be fine.

Dr. Bartling is an awesome professor. His quizzes are hard though and you have to READ THE BOOK. He did make the class very interesting though and I personally love it! He also gives extra credit at the end of the semester if you don't like your grade.

he gives out the questions and answers for the tests. ON A SENIOR LEVEL CLASS. wow. so thats not bad, be prepared to have EXAMPLES for everything, though. Truthfully, he's awesome (hes a sucker for anything that deals with cognitive psyc), just class suffers because McNeese psyc students are severly limited in what they are able to research.

I have taken 427 & 428. He leans strongly in statistics. Dr. B. is a great professor who is very kind and tries to help at any point in an assignment. He makes himself very assessable to students; he fair in grading.
