I love him very much as a teacher and he made me feel so welcome at the physics department. I had him in many different classes and I am happy to hear that he will be retiring in May. I wish him everything he ever wants.

Comment:

Had him for engineering physics, which covers the calculus portion of physics. He is a great man and loves his job, but know his business and you may have to ask him to slow down. He was always there to help outside of class. You must attend class and do all the homework and practice tests.

Rutledge is a great guy. He is adorable and extremely nice, and he's always willing to help his students. Most of the labs involve watching old Carl Sagan videos, which is fun. His grading is kind of weird (92% is a B) and his tests aren't terribly easy, but it's a fun class and he's a great teacher.

Dr. Rutledge is the best. 3/4ths into the class you will already have all your lab points and tests are easy. Also the out of class labs are actually fun and help your grade alot. Best teacher at ECU! For sure take him.

He is so cool! His old tests are on the ECU website, and the book website has the practice tests. he takes his test questions from these 2 places. You don't even have to go to class except to get your lab points. I highly recommend him!!

Loved this class. Rutledge is an absolutely great teacher. He really knows his stuff. Changes his tests every time but fairly close as long as you study and come to class you will easily pass.

awesome instructor...makes class interesting. Turned science from my least favorite to my of my most favorite subject...Even though his policy says no kids, he allowed me to bring my youngest when I had no alternative, he gave her things to do. Thanks!
