I enjoyed Dr. Carbines class. She was clear about her expectations, 4 test are taken and 2 papers are required. Classes are lecture based, although some films are shown and class discussions covering preassigned readings. The text is not a necessity; all tests are based on the material covered in the lectures. Outlines are given ,but take notes too

Dr Carbine is amazing!!! The Lectures are large part of exams, so take notes and pay attention in class. She will tell you what is "important and you will see it again on the test". History comes to life and the class is great!! Would def take another course tot!!

She is a good teacher. She types up her notes online. You technically do not have to go to class. However, try to go to the discussions and most of the classes. Turn in the papers on time. Easy A.

The class consists of four exams and two essays. Attendance is a MAJOR part of your grade, so attend every class if you can! There are a couple of videos shown here and there, but overall Prof. Carbine is good at teaching but is quite firm about her rules. There are harsh penalties for late work and she's a tough grader on exams and essays.

Prof. Carbine is very knowledgeable. Lectures from the start of class to the finish. All the test questions are from the lectures so take notes. There are four tests. There are also two papers, which you will get an A on if you know how to write a college level paper. Five discussions, easy points. Attendance is mandatory which is hard at 8:15.

Dr. Carbine is very smart and willing to share all her knowledge with her students. She is definately prepared for her lectures. She gives a clear outline that I used to study for exams and did very well. She is a great teacher, I would take another course with her.

Dr.Carbine is very knowledgeable, compassionate, and enthusiastic professor. Interesting lectures. Exams are straight from her study guide. I just memorize the whole study guide and it's an easy A. I skipped at least 4 classes, but didn't affect my grade at all although there is an attendance sheet. Would take her class again!

Dr. Carbine is really smart and lays out the material well. However, the class can get boring, and attendance is basically mandatory. Test are manageable, all you have to do is rewrite her notes...papers are easy but she is a stickler for grammar. Easy A-. have to put in a little extra effort for the A.

Easy A/B. Great Core class. She takes attendance but no midterm or final! Never had to use the book either. She even posts lectures up online. 2 papers (3-5 pages) and 4 tests. Cram for the tests and write as much as you can for the essay and you will be set. Take her!

The class is not exceptionally boring for a history class, but the tests are kind of intense. She makes it very clear what she expects but you basically have to memorize your large amount of notes in order to do well. She takes off for not including the smallest details on identifications so be careful. Not a terrible class overall.

4 easy tests, 2 simple papers and NO FINAL. She puts up her notes online, so if you miss something, it's not a big deal. Taking notes and memorizing them will get you A's on her exams; she gives you a term and you explain it THOROUGHLY, writing every detail down. Take her to fulfill that History CORE.

Prof. Carbine KNOWS her stuff. She lectures from the minute class starts to the end. She grades papers/tests based on historical facts AND grammatical things, so watch out. Essentially, write down everything she says in lecture and then memorize it for the test and you'll do well. She's tough, but does make the class interesting.

She's a nice lady, but can be a bit boring. Lectures are long. However, if you actually listen in class the tests are easy. Print out the topics syllabus for studying! 2 papers (3-5 pg, which she grades very easily), 4 tests, and class discussion. She takes attendance, but it does not count against you if you don't go.

If you go to class and take notes the tests are easy. You don't need to read the book and the in class assignments are a breeze. No final, 2 very easy papers (1 research 1 on The Prince), 4 tests (7 define words and 1 essay) she takes attendance...

Professor is awful and coldhearted. On the exams she asks minor details she barely mentioned in class, and doesn't ask about anything major or important. For example, in the Roman Chapter she did not ask a question about Julius Caesar. Instead, she asked useless information. I recommend not taking her if you want an A.

If you go to every lecture, take good notes, and turn everything in on time then you can get an A. All you have to do is memorize everything she lectures and you are set, unless you miss a few classes then count a B

I thought that this class was very interesting. It is an easy class. You have to attend class everyday but it's not boring. Her lectures are interesting (if you like History). Her tests are easy since they are straight from her lectures, your notes. You have to take notes but her lectures were easy to follow. I recommend you take Dr. Carbine.

another fine class from Dr Carbine! took her for 102 as well. go to every class, write down everything, and then regurgitate it back onto the blue book for the test. there are two 3-5page papers which are not too hard. you read the book "the prince" which was enjoyable. group discussions were pretty easy.

Straight lecture teacher. This was my first class on MWF and I was nearly always put to sleep. No interaction with the class, but attendance is mandatory. I took this class as an elective, but I probably will not take any more history because of this. Easy class, if you can handle the boredom.

go to class every day. take notes on everything, even though she puts an outline on blackboard. she can be slightly boring but she's very clear and easy to understand. tests are kind of intense but if you take good notes and don't put studying off until the night before, you'll be fine.
