Comment:
She gave me low marks on a paper and claimed I didn't cite certain evidence, which I spent about 2 pages discussing. Her class was boring, obvious and I think I could have taught it better, but intro psych is bound to be irritating. However, she was good at leading discussions and I did enjoy some of the required reading.

Comment:
Christensen is very nice but her intro psych class was hard to stay awake in. There was hardly any real class discussion, and every class consisted of a boring powerpoint that was a rehash of the textbook reading. She also gave out frustratingly ambiguous and ridiculous assignments. Not recommended.

Comment:
Prof Christensen is a very nice lady, and is perhaps engaging in her neuroscience classes, but her intro to psych class is probably not worth taking. Every class was a dull powerpoint that reviewed readings we had done prior to class. She was also unclear about certain things, and I would have to ask several times before getting a straight answer

Professor Christenson is incredibly knowledgable on her material. I took 106.01 psychology of well-being. Class was well-supplemented by studies and readings from a book other than the textbook. Tests were straightforward. Make sure you read and take notes. Only warning: her voice is very soothing..put me to sleep on occasion!

She talks to the class like we are 3rd graders, going painfully slow through the dumbest material then skipping through the harder stuff. She expects you to remember ridiculous details, but luckily you don't cover anything so its not too bad. I never hate on profs, but I value my time at Vassar too much to waste it on this class

Comment:
The class was incredibly reasonable but it was SO ridiculously boring I couldn't even handle it. I would tune out after the first two seconds because she speaks SO slowly, is so dry, and treats us like five year olds. Granted, it was intro psych but it was still mind-numbing.

Comment:
This class was one of the harder classes I've taken: there's lots of reading, the tests require huge amounts of memorization, and the papers involve lots of research. BUT I learned an incredible amount and Christensen is a wonderful teacher. Lectures are engaging and she is a fair grader.

She is a very good professor who really knows and loves her subject. The material for this course can be difficult and you will learn a lot and take a ton of notes. She gives you a study guide for the exam at the beginning of each class and if you focus on those things you'll be fine.

Professor Christensen is extremely knowledgeable and you'll learn more than you can imagine taking one of her classes. She's a tough grader and expects a lot from her students (you'll be reading a ton), but in the end you'll come out of her class with an extreme confidence of the material

She's someone you want to be your grandmother. Going to her class was calming, informative, and very interesting. She's in the top 3 professors I've had at Vassar. Simply amazing.
