Definitely the most amazing professor of chemistry I've ever had. Very hard class, but you learn so much. Chem 3B with a different professor was completely and utterly manageable after being in her class. Highly, highly recommended!

prof bertozzi was alright. looking back, she was a pretty good teacher, not amazing but good. before each midterm she would go over the topic of each question which was nice. in lecture she was clear and did everything on the chalkboard or would bring in models. overall, i would recommend taking her!

By far the best professor I've had at Cal. She makes o-chem very clear in her lectures, which are actually easy to pay attention to. Great sense of humor and personality. You'll have to work hard, do a lot of practice problems and use the SLC as a resource. The only bad thing about Bertozzi: she doesn't teach very often, you're lucky if you get her

Absolutely amazing. Introduced me to the magical world of ochem, and now I'm hooked on chemistry. Very approachable, very clear, and genuinely cares about her students. A very rare combination considering how famous she is-- her modesty is impeccable! Too bad she only teaches randomly every few years. Best semester EVER.

She's the best professor I've had at Berkeley thus far! I loved her class. The lectures were fun, her office hours were useful, and if you work, she'll work with you. Definitely worth the time--I learned a lot from her.

There's no denying that Professor Bertozzi is HARD, but she's a funny and engaging professor who clearly knows chemistry really well. Your grade is based entirely on two midterms (25%) and a final (50%), and there's a curve, so study hard. Make flashcards, go to the SLC, do lots of problems. (Also - she loves her transition states so study those!)

Probably one of the best professors I've had at Cal. Very passionate about chem and explained concepts very clearly and made the material interesting. Her tests are kind of hard, but doing practice problems and keeping up with the lectures helps a lot.

Chem 3A was an extremely hard class (test average fell below the 40s), but Bertozzi is nonetheless an excellent teacher with wonderful communication skills. She's helpful and interesting, and she knows the subject like it's written on the inside of her eyelid. Go search up Carolyn Bertozzi on google, you'll get page after page of her accomplishment

HARD CLASS. Don't be fooled by the comments here. YES she is clear and fun but HER GRADING IS NOT. Class is 25% midterm 1, 25% midterm 2 and 50% final. OH BTW, average for midterm 2? 40%! BEWARE OF THIS CLASS. Good professor....but her personality isn't going to get you an A in the class.
