She likes to open up discussions for everyone to participate in, but most times she'll just cut you off with "yeah,mmhmm, etc..." in the middle of your sentences, clearly not listening. Also, her time management and consideration for student's time is minimal. If she disagrees with your stance in a paper, good luck.

Very nice lady. Passionate about teaching this grammar class. If you're not an English major I would NOT recommend taking this class. I am an English minor and made the mistake of taking it. It is directed pretty much only towards students who want to be teachers. Great and all, but definitely not for everyone. Your grammar skills may grow though!

Dr. Kroll is the best teacher I have ever had. I was terrified when I started here, but I have taken 3 courses with her, and she made me feel like I can do this. I wanted to be a teacher when I came here, but she showed me what kind of teacher I want to be.

My favorite professor at SSU. Cathy puts an extraordinary amount of effort into designing her lesson plans and is teaming with useful advice for future teachers. She's lively, spirited, and willing to help you with anything at any time. She's also open to almost any changes or extensions for deadlines if you make a good case for it.

Kathy is a really good teacher,understanding and explains things as much as she can to make it clear for students.This class was kind of tough,mainly taken by ENGL majors, I am a Hutchins Major and found it to be confusing at times, but overall a good class to take. I recommend her and recommend you have ALOT of time set aside for this class :)

She may seem as though she's dumbing things down which makes her seem superior, but that's ok you're in the class to learn. She's actually really nice. Gives great feedback on essays. She's really understanding. She thoroughly explains. Yes you write essays which english class doesn't but she gives you a wide range of topics. She's easy, take her.

Great teacher. One of my favorite at SSU. She was very helpul, made me intereseted in the course, picked good novels, very helpful with papers and lead great discussions. I really learned a lot in her class and hope to get to take a class with her again. I recommend this class to everyone.

Very fun, only fell asleep once. This class was all about reading and discussion. You could get away with using spark notes,but the books are worth reading and i hate required reading. She is a great teacher who makes you want to be the best English ever! Fair grader. Fun class, no worries with Cathy.

hard expect to redo 4-5 major papers 3 times each. lots of reading but semi-easy to **** discussions and response papers. when she shows videos pay attention and go to class it payed off for me. overall you will lern allot but at the cost of part of your social life.

She's defitely interesting and very passionate which is good. She's helpful if you have problems. The only thing is she seemed a little easy and by the time the end of the semester came she knew I was a decent writer so seemed to expect that of everything I did even if I hadn't put any effort into it. Cathy is a crazy lady, but her class was enjoyable and she picked out some odd yet interesting novels to read. She was very good about helping students write their essays, and I recommend visiting her during office hours if your having a difficult time, she's extremely helpful.
