Wasn't a fan. I love music and the information was interesting sometimes, but class itself was sort of boring. It's a good way to get rid of the creative expression core though. My friend was taking an on-line version of this course while i took prof Callis and I had a much easier time getting an A.

not an easy A. textbook was barely used don't buy it. expects you to memorize composers, a certain song, characteristics of it, time period, genre, and other terms for both midterm and final. need to go to two concerts do yourself a favor and go early to get it overwith. barely went but go for handouts it'll help. (2-3) internet classes are easy.

Take her for an easy A. Study all her class notes that she hands out and you will get an east A. TEXTBOOK NOT NEEDED, just review her sheet and listen to the required music. Show up everyday and DO NOT USE YOUR PHONE and she will bless you.

I loved this class dearly. She taught us all about music and gave lucid handouts that explained the material. Side note, youll get to listen to the most beautiful classical music youll ever hear. 2 easy tests, 2 concert attendances and a couple of online assignments and you got an A. A true eye-opening horizon-broadening class to take.

She is annoying, boring, and rude. I took this class 001, but she went in. Expecting us to memorize composers, their pieces, and dates. You have to goto two concerts, nobody tryna lol. Also have to know crazy musical terms for a begginer class, i guess she dosent understand that we are not all musicians rather we need this class for gen req

This class is on music from middle ages to the baroque and classical eras. If you don't like pieces of classical music, and just like rock and roll, don't take this class. I love classical music so I enjoyed this class very much. Good teacher but low voice and put me to sleep. Easy tests and you need to attend 2 concerts NOT ROCK AND ROLL. Easy A.

She can be pretty moody but sometimes I can understand why, when people are late or walk out during a piece that is important. She is very clear on what she expects from her class. She doesn't like talking and will catch you on your phone. She's a good professor and really just wants her students to pay attention. If you study, the tests arent bad

The class is not that hard but is extremely boring. She is sometimes very rude and sometimes very nice. 2 Major grades: Midterm and Final. A lot of extra credit. If you do a little work, it's Easy A.

The class was basically music history so show up, use the textbook to review and you'll be fine. The class was pretty simple, just take good notes. The professor was dry, though. It was hard to stay awake.

Memorize the Composers, ERA/Dates, & their Works. Read the textbook its very useful. She is nice but may have her attitude at times when you approach her. Exams are on what she goes over in class although you will need to read further using the textbook/worksheets. She may give extra credit. Overall she is okay. Great piano Player by the way.

Memorize, attend lectures, 2 concerts, do extra credit. Easy A. Otherwise, if you are like who likes to skip, do not go to concert, average test score: 85, then she is still nice! She gave me B-. I know I could have done better, but I won't cry over it because it was all my mistakes (lazy) Her lectures are surprisingly very good!

Calm L's trying to wake up for this class but nevertheless I got a A. There's way too much studying for a class that's not even intended for a music major. I wouldn't recommend this class to someone who's not willing to put the work in to study. Not an easy A as everyone says. You don't need the textbook study the handouts and you'll be fine.

I took this class for credit and ended up getting an A+. Professor Callis is very smart and if you put in a little effort to this class, it's an easy A. Two multiple choice tests make up most of the grade. As long as you listen in class and do some studying before the test, you'll be good. 3 easy homeworks and show up to class for attendance.

Here's the deal. Her lectures are heavy but you don't need the textbook; she gives notes and review sheets so you don't even have to take notes. Attending 2 concerts isn't bad; it's at QC, short, and are good. Gives extra credit for tests, has surprise quizzes but don't count, and final/midterm have a lot to know. Be sure to memorize a lot.

Shes Boring but Easy. Here is info you really want to know. She does ask for a textbook, but you will never need it. (It was used only twice and it was a self read to reinforce what was already on the board). Secondly, her quizzes are graded by the student next to you, and then later taken home. She does not ever grade it.
