Her Drugs & Behaviour class was great! but much too advanced and tough for a 200 level course. Put the time in and you'll come out the other side with a new understanding of accomplishment! Her Neuropsych class made me want to cry... 3 hour lecture of intensive note taking. No visual aids and marks very hard (only two exams to make up entire grade)

Terrible intro professor. Only interested in her own work. Boring lectures and slides. Would tell anyone not to take any of her courses. It was brutal.

If you have any intention of going to graduate school for psychology, take her Neuropsychology course. You get from Dr. Ryan's classes what you put into it. Do everything she tells you to do (which she makes clear) and you will do well. Her classes will make reading psychology literature MUCH easier.

Yes, she can be tough. After writing one of her exams you will feel like you just ran a mental marathon. But you will ALWAYS walk away from her classes having learned a lot of very interesting and important things. One of my favorite profs not despite of the challenge, but because of it.

3 hour class with her was terrible, so longggg..made sure not to let us out earlier than 15 minutes. Tests were very difficult, way too much material. Have to devote a lot of time to do well.

People complain she is a hard teacher, but I've noticed that those are the people who either don't go to class or those who are busy texting/not paying attention to what she's saying. If you actually listen to her explain concepts, you will understand them perfectly. Her tests were just like the practice questions- no surprises!

I'd have to agree with the person below me. No visual aids, expected to copy notes for 3 hours, expected to know every detail in the book, and the grade is based on 3 tests. I don't think I'll be taking her again. You better have the time to devote if you take this course, or you're screwed.

Without a doubt, the worst professor I have ever had, and I've had some pretty abysmal ones. Virtually no slides or visual aids were used, and none were available to the students online. When you take this class, you are expected to copy notes for three hours, without pause. Also extremely unreasonable with the workload for a second year course.

Dr. Ryan is a great professor, the text book she had selected to use for this class was also very good! Her tests and exams were very fair, she always went over questions from the book from the previous chapter and took any suggestions of what problems to do. Answered any questions appropriatley, has a great personality and is also very approachable

She's one of the hardest professors I've ever had. You're expected to know every detail in the book. She's a nice lady and a good professor, but be sure that you have the time to devote to this course.
