Comment:

Best inspirational teacher ever had. Web course was fun & enlightening. Very helpful. Gives great feedback. Easy classwork is mainly study slides, open note tests, light reading, & discussions. 1 of the final project choices is a fun art project. Has extra credit! She makes thoughtful announcements & reminders. Highly would recommend taking her.

Comment:

She us an okay teacher, but her lecturers don't match up well with the material in the textbook. Her study guides don't match up well with the lectures and text either. And examples that she uses in her lectures are mostly native american culture and hardly any from other parts of the world even though she said other cultures would be studied.

The lectures are boring and the same each class. She just reads off of slides. She teaches at a very fast pace and the tests end up covering at least 5 chapters worth of information. The study guides that are given are very unorganized and do not help you at all. If you want to pass this class you have to read the textbook and make your own notes.

Comment:

The class is very informational, there is a lot of chapter readings but she tells you stories through out the semester about her personal experiences in the field to help understand concepts. Do the readings, show up to class, pay attention, study and do the study guide you will do fine. Some opportunity for Extra credit. Def recommend.

extremely dull class experience for a subject that should have been captivating. Were required to come but Mrs. Hinton never deviates from her power point lectures (which are also on paper) so your time just feels wasted since nearly all the info comes from her handouts. Her anecdotes and progressively become painfully boring as well.

I took her CCS 133 class online, and the first thing I noticed was her Canvas layout is a mess. I think she tried to organize it, but it's frustrating and made it hard to tell which assignments were due when. She seems nice, but she grades super hard on tests (I didn't include specific wording, and she took points away).

Professor Hinton is great! However, her lectures are a little too tedious since she reads off the PowerPoints. Her tests are easy if you read the book, and the assignments are not difficult either. Mind opening class in general!

Professor Hinton's class is very intriguing and never fills. She doesn't expect much besides wanting you to actually participate and learn something about yourself. Work isn't hard and is very clear on instructions.

Professor Hinton is authentic she truly loves teaching, she wants everyone to understand and feel the course. Her lectures are very interesting and insightful. I would recommend this class to anyone who wants to open their minds and hearts.

Professor Hinton is a nice lady. You can tell that she has a very strong interest in the subject and she cares about her students. She's willing to help if you need it, and from my experience all the tests except the final were take home! I would recommend her, especially if you're really interested in the subject.
