Brother Foster is one of the best professors I've had. He's very passionate about what he teaches, and his excitement is contagious. He makes philosophy personally relevant. His lectures were interesting and entertaining. His class was pretty easy as long as you do the reading.

Very entertaining and LOVES what he teaches. He does make a disclaimer that he's ADD at the beginning, so those who keep complaining really shouldn't be. Just remember to be honest and do the HW even though it isn't graded, and you'll have a blast!

Has a high need to be the center of attention: a real know-it-all.The class is about him not the student.

Best Professor at BYU!! Take one of his classes if you get the chance. I had the opportunity to have two classes from him the first-year writing class and Intro. to Philosophy. His class is so entertaining! It is like a comedy show. He is hilarious. Has a unique talent of teaching in a way to keep your attention while expanding your knowledge

Try to get a different prof. The only thing you do for this class is write papers, and he's very unclear and changing about the directions for them. It seems like he spends the entire class time showing off what we knows about Philosophy.

Bro Foster is so much fun. He's really passionate about philosophy, and it shows. In his Writing & Rhetoric class, you're only graded on the papers (which are pretty easy), and you spend class time having discussions on philosophical topics that you aren't tested on. Bro Foster definitely isn't boring.

First off, do yourself a favor and DON'T underestimate the difficulty of Prof. Foster's tests, because although they are easy, if you haven't practiced them enough, you may forget some heuristics that will get you going in the wrong direction. Studying is important in his class. Soak in what he says, and the knowledge from the TB will suffice.

I loved going to class so much because every class period was pretty much Foster doing stand up comedy. The papers were kind of ridiculous though. Sometimes he would start talking about things in class that I think are intended for 300 level philosophy students, but you aren't tested on that stuff. This class really changed how I look at the would

Foster is crazy...but in a good way. He's all over the place during class, and he is extremely difficult to follow. If you need to take 305, do yourself a favor and take it from Carter. You'll be glad you did.

I think this may have been one of the best classes I've ever taken. Counts for the 1st year english GE. Bro. Foster isn't the most organized, but he is AMAZING. I learned so much in this class. Grades are based primarily on 7 papers that are spread throughout the semester.

He is kind of all over the place, but very entertaining. He isn't that helpful if you go visit his office hours, and he seems to have people he kind of favors, but overall he is a pretty nice guy. The class probably wouldn't be easier with someone else.

He is a good person but a poor teacher. Take 305 from Carter, you'll get a better grade and understand the material. He is writing his own textbook which means it is of very little use to the student. The lectures are funny but not very helpful. He would be so much better if he wasn't so scatter brained.

foster is hilarious! the class was relatively easy, but I felt like class time was a waste of time. he's a little scatterbrained, so sometimes the lectures don't follow any logical structure. majority of the grade is based on six or seven papers, and i'm horrible at writing philosophically. he's great though if you're philosophically inclined

I looked forward to every single one of Foster's classes. We learned so much about logic and argument and in the greatest ways that I could ever think possible. The atmosphere he creates is fantastic for learning reasoning and writing. Very helpful on re-writes for papers, and a great new perspective on writing for all you English majors!

He's a WAY fun guy. You will enjoy his class. The weird thing is the homework: it seems to come out of nowhere, and is quite extensive sometimes. Class almost never has anything to do with the work you do FOR the class, which is why it's fun, but don't expect it to be easy.
