Super nice guy, funny, very helpful. Unfortunately his lectures were very confusing and rambling (at least for me). I didn't get much use out of his in-class notes. However the textbook assigned (Intro to Spectroscopy; Pavia) is fantastic - if you make sure to read all the chapters you'll do fine.

Keep Calm And Mass Spec On If your the least bit interested in the instrumental methods of chemistry this prof is awesome. If not choose another if possible... KNOWS EVERYTHING THERE IS TO KNOW ABOUT MASS SPEC!!!

I gained a better appreciation of Chris throughout the course. He is so passionate about what he teaches and he does want his students to succeed. This course is one of the hardest chem courses at viu. He expects a lot out of you. You seriously must study EVERY day to do well.

Chris is very nice: one of the nicest professors I know. He is also very knowledgeable. However he is the least capable teacher I've had during my degree. If you have to take CHEM312, I strongly suggest reading 'Quantitative Chemical Analysis' by Harris if you would like to do well. the required Skoog textbook is useless in comparison.

He's okay. I liked Erik's portion of the course better. I had a hard time understanding some of the topics Gill discussed. But he was very welcoming when you visit him in his office though.

Eventhough I got an A in this class it was only because I studied everything from the textbook. He is pretty much impossible to understand!! When I went to him for help outside class time he was very avaliable, but totally useless at explaining!! Lots of knowledge, but a bad teacher!
