Maeve was a good prof she knows a lot about the criminal justice system and brought in a lot of guest lectureres to further explain topics to us. Definitely buy the the textbook all her lecture slides are replication of the textbook but there's a lot in the textbook that she just mentions so it was good to have it to be able to go into detail.

Although the lectures can be very boring she tries to make them interesting. Shes known for her trip to the court house and guess speakers. Very easy class and AMAZING study guides! Shes such a sweetheart. I almost dropped it because it's so lecture heavy but she does her best. Reads off the slides though - boring

Easy prof, but lectures are extremely boring to sit through. She talks super slow. You have to show up for attendance and just be aware that she takes attendance twice during the class so stick through the entire thing for the attendance marks. Very easy exam. If you don't get an A in this class it's your fault.

Dry lectures, goes off on a million tangents, changes topic mid sentence, shows up late... she just doesn't seem organized. When she gets going on the actual course content, its not too bad, but those occurrences are few and far between

Read all of her content from the textbook, didn't have much extra content other than the guests who came in. Lecturing style was dull, almost fell asleep in class because of it. Upside was the field trip to the Ontario Provincial Courts.

The lectures were extremely dry and full of outdated information (the required textbook was over 20 years old). Participation isn't really important but attendance was mandatory so people would just show up and go on their laptops the entire time. She is also a surprisingly tough grader considering she is really unclear about assignment guidelines.

Very easy material but the lectures are super dry and she usually falls behind quite quickly at the beginning of the semester. You would expect to leave the class with an A but with her method of grading most students came out barely passing although the material is basic knowledge. Attendance is an extra 12% so show up to class.

Most dry and uninteresting lectures I've ever had to sit through. Her slides are a direct copy and paste of textbook material. Since attendance counts for 12% I wouldn't suggest skipping though. Exams are easy but her grading is insane, people come out expecting A's and get D's.

Easiest class I have ever taken but seems she is confused with grading as students have come out of exams expecting A's and receiving D's. By far the weirdest grading technique and she wull not meet with you to explain or speak of your marks, claiming she has no time.

Such a funny and easy going lady. Just read her slides and listen once in a while you will get an A. She is big on bringing in guest speakers and field trips (court house). She gives you all the questions for the exam and gives you a great guide. If you have the opp. choose Maeve. Overall, great prof and very easy to succeed.

Read the text and you'll pass. Her classes are a reiteration of the text. She does take attendance so you should show up to class anyways because its worth 12%. She gives good study guides.

I've taken every Maeve class and she hands success to you on a platter. Yes, she can be a bit scattered, but the material is interesting. She is always learning too. She is approachable, friendly, helpful and structures the course immaculately! LOVE HER!! She loves her students and wants them to succeed!!

Great lady, genuinely cares about the wellbeing of her students! Exams are pretty easy if you have studied and her study guides help alot! The only negative thing is her dry lectures and mandatory attendance!

The most boring lectures ever, everyone is on FB or browsing but go because she makes it mandatory. Lots of people leave after attendance sheet is passed around. Easy enough exams, she gives study guides which are really helpful, essay question in advance. Guest speakers and a trip to the courthouse (which is mandatory). I regret taking this class!

Very easy class. She gives a review before exam and it is spot on! She is slightly dull in her teaching, but her heart is in the right place. All you have to do is attend, follow her exam review/guidelines and it really is an easy A. Her exam questions were simple and straightforward.

Sometimes we don't need humorous professors. The CRCJ content was sufficient. Because she really cares about the subject & her students, it's refreshing to listen to her. She goes the extra mile by inviting guest speakers, providing mock exams for the midterm & final exams. Do the readings, attend class, & DO THE MOCKS, then you're ready for the A!

She genuinely cares about her students! Wants them to succeed. Provides clear amazing study guides. Although sometimes she does go off topic, she has a certain humour, if you can find it, the classes are enjoyable! If not... just zip it, have a coffee and write down everything she says. If you Sit up front & take notes = A. No joke.
