Had him for SOC101 my 1st quarter & it was the best class EVER. I've never had such a down-to-earth teacher. Now, my last quarter before graduation I took another one of his classes just because I wanted too. Not because I needed too. His comedy was needed one last time to get me through and I wouldn't want to end my GHC experience any other way.

Chris was an absolute joy to learn from. Sociology is not a subject I've ever found very interesting, but his lectures are hysterical and he brought the subject to life. I wish I could just attend his lectures from time to time for fun. If you show up and get involved and listen this class will not be a problem, in fact it will be a pleasure.

Mr. Portmann is a great teacher! If you're looking for an instructor who is clear in his lectures, take him! We hardly used the textbook, almost to the point where it wasn't necessary to buy it. He puts emphasis on what will be on the tests. He's easy on the eyes and if you study for the tests, you will do well.
