She is incredibly smart, which means that she sees right through you if you are writing fluff in essays. She allows you to rewrite essays and gives great feedback if you send it to her in advance. She loves class participation, the class is challenging and fun, and I would definitely take her again. Amazing professor and amazing class.

An awesome professor, very down-to-earth. You learn a lot of good information in this class, many other classes actually can relate s from this class. Do not miss her classes, she has a bit of a strict attendance rule.

First off: This woman is just a straight up phenomenal human being. So sweet. So smart. So funny. Too beautiful, too pure for this world. She will do everything in her power to help you even if you're like, the worst human/student. Took her for my capstone and got an A. TAKE HER UTOPIA/DYSTOPIA class if possible. Lifechanging.

I'm pretty sure Dr. Curtis could take over the world if she wanted to (she's so smart). Unfortunately, I am not as smart as she is, so I had to work for everything. Readings aren't too long but you need to really focus when reading them. She gives study guides, so prepare for any tests. Papers can be challenging and she's a tough grader. Good class

Poli Thought is a tough subject and can be very dry. She made it much better though and keeps the students engaged and interested. The hw readings were very hard but every class went over them and described every detail. Gave a great study sheet and you can pretty much know what will be on the test. Really kind and will help you if you ask!

Prof Curtis is amazing! I was NOT interested in political sci but decided to take the FYE Engaging Charleston course that was taught half the time by her regardless. And I'm so glad I decided to take it! She got me so interested in poli sci and makes me want to further take interest. You can't be a slacking student but you don't have to be genius

I will keep my opinion short and give you practical advice. She is very interesting and we usually enjoy her class. Hard class, but Professor Curtis is fantastic. She explains everything so it is as easily understandable as can be and is always happy to meet with you outside of class if you have any questions. Not an easy grader by any means, but she's an absolutely fantastic professor and as helpful as can be.

omg prof curtis is AMAZING!!!!! considering civ is probably the worst class EVER(!!!!!), she makes you want to come to class and learn the material. by no means is the class easy, you definitely have to work, but she makes you want to learn the material. definitely take her!!!!!!
