She's a super nice prof, not intimidating in the least. A good bit of homework but that's the usual when learning a new language. Cares about her students. Attendance is necessary to pass. Very responsive to emails. No complaints. Hope I can take one of her courses again.

She is a nice person BUT, if you didn't take French immersion you won't do well in this class and will be extremely intimidated. The whole class is in French and she expects you to know a lot that wasn't even covered in 1500 and 1501. She calls on you constantly so if you don't like to participate this course is not for you.

Really great Prof. Yes, she calls on people for answers, but if you have your homework done, that shouldn't be a problem! Tests are pretty tough, but gives a lot of little assignments which makes boosting your mark much easier. Very helpful and kind. Would definitely take a class with Claire again!

Worst prof I've ever had. Terrible organization.I didn't get anything from her classes. I had to leave class everyday because she used to make me have anxiety attacks and she picked on me because of it. She chooses favorites and doesn't hide it, and if she doesn't like you; you'll know it. Talks to you like you're dumb. she's SO rude and ignorant!!

She is such a good teacher! It was not the easier french class, but I definitely learned a lot. She is there to help outside of class if you need something explained. She expects a fair bit and her tests are sometimes kind of hard, but if you put the effort in she will like you and it will be a good time! your french will improve

She's a nice lady and is always there for help, but I found her incredibly intimidating and found it terrifying to participate in class. Almost none of the class is spoken in English, so if you don't understand her you miss a lot of the class instruction and what she wants from you.

Taken for French - She's relatively nice and kind of strange. Her french is hard to understand at times and she's VERY picky about accents and how you pronounce things. Calls on you involuntarily, but doesn't mind helping you if asked. Her tests are hard and require a lot of studying and memorization.

Very organized. Has high expectations, but definitely matches your work with hers. Always prepared, gives very good and thorough feedback. Approachable, always there during her office hours. Highly recommended. I wouldn't say the textbook is essential to passing, but it is definitely essential to learning.

Fantastic & helpful prof. It's stupid that some people say she's hard to understand. It's fine if you don't understand every single word, as long as you know the vocab at the end of each chapter and the grammar points covered in class, which are well explained in the book, you'd do great.

She has high expectations, but she is very helpful. One of the nicest profs that I have met, and if you need help she will definitely give it to you. Sometimes I find her a little hard to understand, I think she might mumble a little, but either than that I have no complaints.

I was someone who got a C in french 1500, and with Frankel's help I got a B+ in her 1501 class. French is going to be hard if you are not used to it but if you go to her class and listen to her then you will do good. Highly reccomend this prof, she wants you to do well

I didnt have the opportunity to have Ms. Frankel as a prof, but she taught me numerous courses in high school..truthfully, I think she knows everything..but she is still super friendly and approachable..I think the world of her-always have and always will..Be prepared to work though..she works hard and expects hard work in return..Great teacher! :)

Excellent prof. Whoever said that she was terrible obviously was unwilling to work and was looking for an easy ride. People this is university and you can't get much better than her. Her class was my favourite elective in my 4 years at MUN. Take her class, you won't regret it!

The most brilliant teacher ever, I think she actually knows everything! She has even won awards of excellence for her teaching in high school which were well deserved. Very helpful and shows concern for how well her students are doing. She's the reason I entered FREN and SPAN at the 2nd yr level. It's a shame I can't take her courses. תו

Great prof for Spanish, makes everything as clear as possible. And she is concerned for all her students and will do anything to help out. I highly suggest anyone to start Spanish with her.
