Cristina herself was the best part about this course. The BFA experience relies heavily on the professor you are given, and I was lucky to have Cristina. She is hands down one of my favorite professors at this school. She not only gave extreme thought and care to my thesis film, but also taught me so much about the entertainment industry and life

Cristina focuses on script analysis. She teaches us how to read the script and think. She let us try to cast actors. She gives us many examples of films and this inspires me to think carefully of my artistic choices.

A bit reserved but nice to know outside of class and during office hours. Class definitely needs to be more hands-on and interactive. Felt like some of her feedback was based on subjective opinion. Don't buy the textbooks for this class, never used! Brings a lot of knowledge to Emerson.

Cristina is a patient and understanding teacher who is also just as effective at being stern and strict. This balance was great to have as it meant never knowing how the work would be received in class. Cristina's critical eye has taught me a lot about my work, myself, and critiquing others.

Very knowledgable of subject matter, lots of experience in the work force so she could give us real advice and suggestions for our future careers. Very open to students ideas and opinions and willing to help in any way possible. She also helped students to harness their strengths and worked with us to discover new things we were capable of.

Cristina is very kind and knows a lot about film. However, I decided to drop the course because she wasn't the best teacher for Film 1. I was doing well in her class, but wasn't learning what I really needed to. I dropped the course to take it with another teacher instead. I wasn't the only person in my class with this complaint.

Christina is a very accomplished filmmaker, and I think forgets that everyone else hasn't been making films for decades. Beware if you are not self-directed, she will not remind you of any deadlines as they approach, and takes little initiative as far as telling you how to make a film. Very skilled however, she can answer any technical question.
