Worst professor I've ever had. Never explined anything. Skipped steps then graded exams harshly for not showing every step even though it looked just like his examples. I do NOT recommend him!

This teacher does not help explain anything. The SI is the best bet. Chipman encourages his students to do problems on his level ( yet he's been a professor for years and we're just learning the concepts)He skips steps because he feel they are "useless", I went to tutors who said that they steps were very "important".

Terrible Professor, bables about things that dont apply to the text book even though he tries to make it seem that way. He makes the class so boring you want to jump out a window. Do not take him we should get rid of this professor

Horrible teacher. Hardly ever shows how to DO a problem, just talks about it. I don't care that the first derivative is like the speedometer in my car! Mullally subbed our class for a while. I got a 4.0 on her exam. I got a 3.0 on the chipman taught exam. hmmm. Be ready to teach yourself from the book. 3.8 in 121, might get a 3.3 in 122. Mullal

he's ok... hes one of the better math teachers at OU, but thats not saying a whole lot considering their math program is a complete joke. id recommend him over most math teachers at OU. But the project is pointless and a waste of time.

He is the worst math teacher ever. He didn't teach anything at all and he'll never work out a problem to the end. He'll stop half way and expect you to figure it out on your own. His lectures are boring and has nothing to do with the subject he is teaching.

Not that bad of a guy as some people make him seem. Nothing on any of his exams is really unfair, thats just people being lazy about doing the work. If you do the work and pay attention when he speaks, and not look for answers all the time, then you will be just fine in his class

really nice guy and willing to help as much as he can. his class is kinda hard. the projects are the worst part of the class. you need to know so many things to do the project and you don't even learn them in class.

Vague in explanations, but willing to help during office hours and after class. The main thing about this course is that you have to do the homework to understand it. The stuff doesn't just come to you. Chipman explains the basics in class and then students must read the text to do the homework. This is calculus hmwk is expected and people can read

He is a cool person but a not so cool teacher. You have to basically teach yourself in this class. He doesn't explain the problems to well because he says to much that is off topic and confuses you as well as himself.

Chipman is a good professor, although his class is pretty hard. He requires two team projects for this course, which suck, but he's extremely helpful (in office hours, class, and through e-mail). He is also good at explaining problems you might have, but attending class is a must. I recommend him.

This is one of the most monotonous and boring teachers I have ever had. Half of the class decided not even to show up within two weeks of the lectures. He won't help you directly with your questions but instead gives you hints to reference something else.

You have to teach yourself everything from the book. Homework is definately crucial to do even if they are worth one point. Never really answers people's questions wants to make you think about it. Group Projects were the worst, fine someone who took his class before and get help for it!!!

Comment:
Always dances around your question. Tries to relate to real world instead of showing how to do something mathimatically. Sometimes he cracks a joke, but most of the time cracks himself up. Usually takes an hour to answer a question. For the most part, dont take him, poor choice, hard grader.
